un supportive hubby!

Looking for advice/support.
Almost 8 weeks pregnant and experiencing horrible morning sickness (that lasts all day sometimes) my doctor just prescribed me some anti nausea meds to help since I can't eat and have lost a few lbs so far. I'm a hairdresser and so I'm very busy during the day and I've had to call in a couple times now because I couldn't leave the bathroom and my bed. The thought of all the chemical smells and long days had me calling in.

I know this is normal and just a phase that will pass but my husband thinks I'm being ridiculous and over dramatic. I'm hurt and don't know how to respond. He says he never heard of any pregnant woman this sick before. How can I get him to understand what I'm going through? I don't want him to wait on me hand and foot but a little sympathy every now and then wouldn't hurt

I agree with the last comment, you two have a long journey to go throughout this pregnancy, he needs to know how a pregnany work, either he is with you at your next doc appt, or watching a baby story. Thats how i got my husband and now pregnant with twin girls i dont have to lift a finger, or even cry out for understanding

Honestly let your feelings fly lol. Yell and let him know how you feel. I'm pretty calm most the time so when I do something like that my husband realizes I'm at my wits end and that I'm not faking or just being sensitive.

My friend was so sick the first 5 months she was stuck in hospital for ages on a drip then when she came out she carried a sick bucket everywhere she went people assumed she was a drug addict or something.  Men really need a reality check sometimes yes we know women have been giving birth for years and years and yes were well aware whatever a man's mummy said is most likely rock solid science blah blah blah but seriously it's rough  times give us a break men you will never know how it feels to grow a tiny human from scratch so you have no opinion ;)

Also look up hypermesis and let him read info on it. Kate Middleton had it is he needs a real world famous reference of someone that kind of went through the same thing as you.

Yeah try zofran. Also try getting a motion sickness bracelet. You should be able to pick it up at any pharmacy, I have also seen it in the baby department at Walmart. I was so sick with my second daughter that I was in and out of the hospital getting IVs and the doc actually ended up putting me on a medicine pump and getting me to come in and get IV fluids every week. That lasted until the day after my csection.

I was was so so sick with my first 3 pregnancies. With my first it was really bad but I had a miscarriage at 22 weeks. With my other 2 I was still serverly sick from pretty much day 1 until the day I had them. With this pregnancy I have had VERY mild nausea and I don't know what to do with myself. Get your doctor to give you 4 mg of Zofran the disolvable kind. It's like a magical pill lol it did wonders for me!

I didn't have the unsupported part my husband was great I must say he picked up all my slack but with my first two pregnancies I was so sick from day one until I gave birth to the point even on the antinausea pills I could not eat or drink and I was in and out of hospital for weeks at a time with dehydration. Sadly it does happen at times and it might help to take him to your appointments so he can hear that from a Dr. Hang in there it's all worth it in the end. So much so I am having my third baby in august. Hope he can be more supportive soon.

Its sad but most men dont get it. They all say the same thing I dont know of any othet pregnant eoman who this or that. Its not cool to be compairedbto ther women. Hang in there and know you are not the only woman who suffers greatly bevsuse of the pregnancy. What could make you feel better is to look up the men who tried out a machine that stimulates the same feeling to have a baby. Watching men wrigel and complain about what our body goes through to give them babies. Alway makes me smile when ive talked to a guy who is like that.

Does he go to your appointments with you? Your doc can reassure him that you are that sick. With my second pregnancy my morning sickness didn't go away until I was about 7 1/2-8 months along. It was terrible I had to drive with a plastic store bag because I never knew when it would not. There were plenty of times where I was driving and throwing up at the same time. And I never knew about this until I got this app, but apparently there's a medicine that your doc can give you for it. Wish I knew that last time around. I only had morning sickness a few times with this one and I'm 19+2 . I forgot what the medicine is called. Maybe someone else will comment with it...
