vaccines while pregnant

So my doc offers or recommends the Tdap and flu vaccine whole pregnant. Well I have the worst memory and they never brought it up a 2nd time so I never got either of them. Is the Tdap one I should have gotten?

I'm 37 weeks now and I feel like crap. I've been sick for 4 days now and I want to get this cleared up before baby comes. Could I be sick bc I didn't get either of the vaccines?

Maybe I'm getting closer to birth. Tuesday it started with a sore throat. Then Wednesday it felt like a full blown sinus infection. And since Thursday it's just turned into a full blown everything. I can't stop coughing or sneezing, my whole body aches. And the robitussin and tylenol is not helping anything.

Hi. I am glad I came across this question. This is what I do for a living. The vaccination is more for the baby.  Tdap has not always been given in pregnancy. A few years back they found that newborns were at higher risk of getting wooping chough because they haven't been vaccinated. You should get the vaccine at the end of your second beginning of third trimester. This will protect baby until they get their first wooing cough shot at 2 months.  As for the flu,  it does only protect against some strands of (the most common predicted for current season). Some protection is better than no protection.

It is not uncommon to get sick just before the end of pregnancy. Your body is changing rapidly. I got a bit sick at the end of both of my previous pregnancies and resting as well as lemon water helped me recover pretty well.

Also the only time I got the flu was the year I got the flu shot so I wouldn't worry and if you are worried about tdap i believe you can still get it.

I wouldn't get the flu shot personally. There is to many strands of the flu going around. And tdap is tetinus and whooping cough the claim it starts to help the baby.
