vegetarian preggos

Any veggie ladies out there? Any tricks or tips you've used to stay healthy during your pregnancy?   Very been on chia seeds at the moment to get the omega 3s! Generally, I'm very healthy- eating organic, staying away from processed foods, taking my vitamins,  daily moderate exercise, all that good stuff.  Also my labs have always looked great.   Just wondering if anyone has any tips I can work into my diet . Thanks in advance!!!

Im veggie and go buy yourself molasses. You can find it in a health store. It is a black syrup rich in iron. A spoonful here and there is the quickest way of keeping iron levels at a healthy level..esp in later pregnancy. Almonds are rich in calcium too. Im a nutritionist and have managed to keep my iron levels healthy this way...goodluck

I'm not a vegetarian, although it makes up most of my diet. I do eat poultry and eggs, no beef or pork. I snack on ripe mangoes, nuts, and other fruits throughout the day. Smoothies with the chia seeds are excellent as well. Try blending almond milk with cocoa powder, banana, kale, and chia seeds (yummy!). There's all sorts of healthy smoothies that are packed with nutrients, try looking them up.

I fell off the veggie truck last November but I'm kinda glad I did. Lol. I need the protein to suit my changing body now.

I'm not a vegetarian but I'm a clean eater and naturalist. (A cheater though as well :) ) I don't take any prenatal vitamins just because I don't feel its necessary (just my opinion) my doc is fine with it and my labs are too beautiful! (I do take folic acid) I would say just listen to your body, drink plenty of water obviously, and get rest! I don't eat alot of meat so I've been compensating with cheese, eggs, beans, etc for extra protein. I feel great great! Not a day of morning sickness, energized, and my body is changing just the way it should. Congrats and goodluck to yyou!!!
