I called my midwife and she sent me down to the labour ward, they took the pad I popped on away for testing and done an internal exam with a speculum. Apparently it was my back waters that had went, the midwife said they can just trickle as there's not very much there, but my front waters are still intact. And, despite the fact I drink tons, I'm still a bit dehydrated so need to up my fluid intake and monitor for any further signs of leaking. Got out hospital at about 3pm, its now 630 and I've had a litre in those three hours so hoping that rehydrates me a bit. X
Don't take any chances.I knew I was leaking amniotic fluid and my midwife dismissed it saying it was urine or discharge. When I had an ultrasound a week later, they found I was right and I needed to be admitted into the hospital right away. You should go to the doctor just to be safe.
It doesn't hurt to get your self to the E.R. You've had other signs so might as well go. Worst case scenario is your not in labor and they send you back home with your mind at ease.
Your water should hv either no odor or a sweet scent most likely. That's what my Dr said w baby no 1.
When your water breaks it is a lot of water. If you are standing up your babys head could be stopping it frim coming out bc a lot of times it acts like a coark. I would lay down for a little bit and see if more comes out. If it was yellowish it could have just been discharge bc sometimes it is liquidy like water
It was my back waters had gone so just to observe for my front waters goimg x
Its definitely not urine, from the smell of it. I'm a psych nurse and do urinalysis daily for drug testing and its definitely not a urine smell. Ive washed myself and gotten dressed and popped a pad on just in case, x
Sit down for a while, when you stand up if it leaks again its your water. Mine broke and it ran down my leg I couldn't stop it. Good luck
You water would be clear. It sounds like pee.
