yeast infection?! ahhh!

Jw if anyone else has had a yeast infection while pregnant and if so what your Dr told you to use? I'm 10 weeks and definitely have a yeast infection, called my OB this morning to ask about meds and after 3hrs was finally able to leave a message for the nurse... It's been 3 more hours and still no call back.. called my primary 2 hours ago and also still no call back... I understand that they prioritize calls based on severity but this is just insane! I'm afraid that I'm going to go crazy and itch myself raw!!!

@thorarb: does your OB's office have a 24-hour service line? that # has saved my life a couple of times.. including with this yeast infection lol - I was hesitant about using Vagisil.. mainly because Google is a LIAR!! HAHA, but I was reassured that it's okay.

if you're in doubt, call labor & delivery. being so close, I'd ask just do make sure.. good luck! ((:

I fear im starting to get one. Is it still safe to use the over the counter stuff at almost 37wks along? Not to mention I lost my mucous plug almost a week ago now so im not sure what to do. I have discharge, seems slightly irritated down there but not clumpy or smelly. Not sure if im getting a yeast infection now or what. Smh

I'm 32w5d & I developed my first yeast infection during pregnancy less than a week ago.. you can use the monistat, but I'd tried something similar to that before & it just didn't work for me..

my OB prescribed a 7-day treatment called "Terconazole" vaginal cream.. you insert an applicator full for 7 nights at bedtime, and it works miracles. I've also been using Vagisil for relief. tonight will be my 5th night, and I'm so relieved!! lol I used to get BV & yeast infections a lot, but it's seemed so much worse during pregnancy & my OB said it was because of our immune systems being weaker.. good luck! I had gotten a yeast infection at 31 weeks by taken antibiotics. My doctor told me it was safe to take Monostat 3 day treatment. I used one dose and seen and felt results. I did use all 3 though just in case. Good luck.

sorry, by 'regular" i meant the regular yeast infection cream, any you can find in the store, like monistat.

Ive had them on & off during my whole pregnancy. Cranberry juice helps. And for the itching canisten dual cream works wonders! But my doctor prescribed me a 3 day course of tablet that have keeped it away so far. But it's different meds for each trimester of your pregnancy. E.g you can only take the if your under 30 weeks ect

I had one earlier in my pregnancy but I was able to see my OB because I had taken antiobiotics for an abcess on my thigh, so they were pretty much expecting it. I was prescribed a single dose tablet and a (pretty expensive but AMAZING) cream. If all else fails, go to urgent care.
