I'm using the one my husband's younger cousins use. They come highly recommend and we went to a meet and greet and we found ours.
I was also told to have one established prior to birth bc pediatrician needs to check on baby at hospital
My obgyn asked me to bring a list of pediatricians to my next appointment and he will he help me pick out a good one in my network. I always prefer someone referred. Ask your obgyn if he/she can refer a good one
I'm just having problems looking for a good one ;( , thanks for the information mommy's
I have 3 children already and just asked their pediatrician at the last appointment they had. She was happy to take on another kiddo. Only problem is, she doesn't go to the hospital I'll be delivering at so I'll just have to use whoever is on call at the hospital when I deliver but once I'm discharged, I can go to the one I've selected.
We had a meet&greet about 6 weeks before my due date with a pediatrician who was highly recommended in our area. He asked us questions and we asked lots of our own and we decided it was a good match. He came to the birthing center to meet and check over our little boy the day he was born. It was wonderful to have everything set up beforehand so we didn't have to scramble to set up those first few appointments.
Usually, you establish with a pediatrician prior to the birth. Look by where you live (you don't want to drive far). I asked around to people with kids by me ad picked someone that has a good reputation. I called the office and they saw me while pregnant to fill out paper work. Then I just called when I had my baby and went the day after we got home from the hospital. good luck
I had to call my daughter's to make sure they were accepting new patients - then they set up a "non-billable" appointment where my husband and I can go in and sit down with her to let her know about the pregnancy and any concerns/ask any questions.
Check with your insurance - and check with the doctors in your area :) I think it just depends.
Depends on the doctor you see. My doctor requires me to have a pediatrician before the birth so they can be called to check the baby at the hospital.
I wanna say that i found my daughter's primary pediatrician through the hospital...she was one of the doctors that was on call that day
You don't need the doctor until the baby is born but you need to see if your pick is accepting new patients. All you have to do is call their office and ask if you can put the doctors name down as your baby's physician and if they accept your insurance. When you have the baby they will ask who you picked as the pediatrician and call them.
In your last trimester. If you find one you love ask them to be your little ones doc. Sometimes they do not take new patients so don't wait until the last minute. Call the office and see if they can see patients at the hospital you're having the baby.
My insurance told me that I can't get a pediatrician for the baby until he is born. Check with your insurance as every insurance it's different.
