zofran??

Has anyone else taken zofran while preg? I read that it was bad for baby one some sites and is a miracle drug on others. I'm just concerned and would never want to take anything that could harm my baby.

My dr. Said a recent study came out not to use Zofran so she prescribed phenigren. My Co worker just had a baby in May and she took Zofran she had a healthy 9 lb girl! There is also a vitamin b6 and unisom (specific ingredient) combo you can take for nausea. I agree with the other ladies. Dehydration and malnutrition are not worth not taking the medicine. I was sick to week 20 and lost 12 lbs even on the medicine! I can only imagine if I didn't take it.

I took it the whole pregnancy with my son who is 5 years old now and my OB who is really cautious and whom I think is really intelligent and competent gave it to me when I complained of a lot of nausea recently. I don't know what class it's in but I trust my doctor.

As far as I know it I s safe. It is safer than some other stuff prescribed for nausea. The benefit of not being sick to your stomach is worth any risks that could be associated with it. Nausea and vomiting can lead to dehydration and nutritional loss which is very bad and risky for baby.

I have been taking Zofran and Reglan since week 7 and am now 23 weeks... The risk associated with dehydration and malnutrition due to HG is far greater than the potential side effects of Zofran and Reglan. My little guy is perfectly healthy up to this point. To each their own though.

I couldnt have survived without my zophran! I was sick all day everyday and completely miserable. Its made me feel normal again! I'd just talk to your doctor. Mine said that the research is not able to link zophran with anything specific, because there could be other reasons like poor diet etc.

My last pregnancy and this one I have both been on Zorn since about 8 weeks or so. My first baby was born healthy and this one is doing just fine at 19 weeks. You can check into Diclegis if you're worried about Zofran though. Both are a level A medication meaning there is no link to birth defects but as with any drug, it's still a drug.

I took it starting at 12 weeks and I'm currently taking it in my 3rd trimester bc my nausea has recently returned. My Dr said it was fine and I have had no issues. It has really helped me a lot it did make me a little drowsy and suppress my appetite

I took it both my last pregnancy and this one, both in first trimester. I have had severe morning sickness...or all day sickness, wasn't keeping anything down at all. Sometimes you have to weigh the benifits over the risks. I was losing weight and am small to begin with, and it came down to what was going to be best for baby. I was lucky if I could kerp water down for 5 minutes before it came back up...so I had to do something. My son was born a bit early, we were induced due to the placement of a fibroid on my uterus so we kept him on the small side to prevent rupture of the fibroid, but took zofran with him through all of first trimester. He was 5lbs 6oz delivered almost a month early but he was very healthy other then his weight.

My dr told me it can cause harm to the baby in the 1st trimester.  Once I was in my 2nd and still sick he prescribed to me and it worked pretty well for me. Talk to your dr about it.
