Can it be?

I am a very very very very very irregular person, there has been times of 3 months without a period.  When I do get it, I am very light and max I have had it is for 3 days.  
Me and my husband have been trying to have a baby for a couple of months no but with no luck.  Lately I have been experiencing some "weird things" such as back pain, I also had headaches, runny nose, a little cough.  Along with this I have experienced, diarrhea, spotting, cramps and bloating for about 9 days.  (All this started on the 15th.) I felt dizzy once in a while but I thought it would be because of the diarrhea, since I was not eating properly.  
When is the best time to test? I do not want false hopes... Should I even test?

HELP PLZ!

Took a test today.... negative ;(
