You're very welcome. Anytime!
Thanks for responding,I have been on Depo shot since last December & haven't had a period or any type of spotting since then,We use condoms eveytime expect for the last time we had sex, which was kinda of rough,
I was thinking could be because of vagina dryness to, I do try to shower after sex every time, but will keep eve on it,I do have some Nitrofurantoin at home that I have been proscribed in pass for Uti's! Thanks again!
Any of the above that you mentioned can be a cause of that. Occasionally people do spot while on DepoProvera shots. Some even continue to have their entire menstrual cycle during them. However, if you had sex and didn't wash well afterward, it could also be the start of a urinary tract infection typically in the bladder, known as cystitis. Symptoms are mild at first, and then will lead to bladder spasms (cramping) frequent urination of smaller amounts and painful burning sensations, as well as some flank pain in your back.
If you have been on the Depo for some time, it's doubtful that implantation has occurred. If you are new to the Depo and don't use other forms of protection during intercourse, you put yourself at risk for pregnancy.
If the symptoms start to show (those I mentioned above) you will need to have a urinalysis and culture to determine which bacteria has grown out of control as well as to determine what antibiotic will be sensitive to it, so it can treat it.
You may also have a yeast infection, which can cause some bleeding to occur during sex. If you have had any thick clumpy whitish vaginal discharge, and some genital itching occur, you would need an anti-fungal treatment. There are several over the counter creams for using exteriorly as well as interiorly.
Whilst on any antibiotic, a yeast infection may form vaginally or orally. If one develops orally you will need to have your MD prescribe a swish and swallow solution to treat that. Also, be prepared to use another form of birth control while on an antibiotic, as they lower the effectiveness of them...or be celibate for up to one week after your treatment has ended. Good Luck!
