Is it stress or pregnancy?
Okay, I know that the answer will probably be to follow up with my doctor. I have an appointment on Thursday. For te past 3 weeks, I've had extremely sore breasts, severe fatigue, pelvic cramping, nausea, food/smell aversion, and I'm almost a week late on my period. I went to the ER this afternoon, because of some sharp pelvic pain. I've had the Mirena IUD since 2015, and needed to rule out ectopic pregnancy.
Yesterday morning, and today as soon as I woke up, I got consecutive positive pregnancy tests. However, my qualitative blood test in the hospital was negative. Also, on my ultrasound, my husband and I could CLEARLY see what looked like a gestational sac next to the Mirena. It was about the shape and size of a round seed (smaller than a pea, though). The radiologist said my uterus is empty, but there  was 100 percent something in there. Even the nurse said that answer sounded fishy. Any thoughts??

Everything you've said points towards a pregnancy. Food/smell aversion is a strong indicator, at least in my case and many people around me have been the same in early pregnancy. However, the blood test being negative is puzzling.

So here are some facts:

Home pregnancy tests are around 97% accurate when they are performed correctly.

False positives can happen if you have blood or protein present in urine. Also certain types of drugs ( tranquilizers, anti-convulsants, and hypnotics) can cause false-positive test results on a home pregnancy test.

While blood tests are considered to be more accurate than home preg tests, they aren;t more sensitive - the blood test results are influenced by the method and technique of how the blood was drawn, transported, and tested, as well as upon the lab itself.

A blood test may show a negative result even if actually pregnant if you take any diuretics. Plus, it will only show a positive after 7 to 10 days after you conceive. Also, it may not pick up very low levels of hCG.

I hope you get what you want!
All the best!
