Spotting when period is due

I usually have a normal 5 day medium/heavy flowing period. But this past cycle it was flowing for two days without any clots, and then it stopped completely for almost a full day. I started spotting very lightly for the next couple of days. I took two pregnancy test as soon as it stopped and they both said negative. I haven't changed my diet or anything like that! Anyone have an explanation?_

I'm only 21! And married, but not on birth control. That's why I took a pregnancy test. Now my face has broken out like I'm 13 again! And I've never cried so much in the past two weeks. Thanks for your input!

Could be early menopause or not....My periods changed at 37, but I still got them regularly and at 43 am pregnant without any medical assistance. Guess it can be pre menopause, but until you actually "pause", you still may be fertil.

Keep using birth control and go ask your Dr.  Just don't stress about it.

If you are over 35 is normal it called early menopause my mom went through kind of like the same situation she was 34 always got her period on time and then one time she started spotting during her period with blood flow on and off she though she was pregnant turned out it was just early menopause there is nothing serious about it except the hormone changes and the side effects that come with the menopause

See the Dr. After 35 my periods went from 5 days to 2-3 days with day 2 being extremely heavy bleeding.....always wore just a single Tampax to bed but had to start using thick nightie pads. Started going through a Tampax in 1-2 hours vs. 4. That sort of thing. Also, my cramps became much more severe....never stayed home from work for cramps before but have had 4 episodes where I had to or, because it was weekend, spent day in bed. Many of my periods are now accompanied by diaherra, especially pleasent, do to horomones.

Many women in my family have experienced heavy periods like this after a certain age. You still must see a Dr.

Note: I am anemic from gastric bypass but when I got a new Dr. at 37, she equated anemia and heavy periods to needing a  biopsy and pelvic ultra sounds for cancer....did not have it....one if those Dr.s who because I had great insurance, and the clinic was a university teaching clinic, she scared 5he hell out if me! Next Dr. said the tests were unneccasary.

Do go to Dr. Do take any recommended tests, but don't stress or worry until they absolutely say you should stress or worry. Or bodies and periods change as we age.

I don't think any of us would be able to tell you. Best thing to do would be see a Doctor, he/she could give you a blood test to see if you're pregnant and why this is happening. Good luck :)

I don't know how old you are but your cycle will start to change. You should see your physician if you are concerned.
