Unprotected sex during likely ovulation. Plan B taken 3 days later. Pregnancy chances?

Somebody, please help.

- My period always last 7 days but alternates between arriving every 27-32 days.
- I last had my period beginning on April 21st, 2009... ending on April 27th, 2009.
- I had unprotected sex April 30th-May 2nd
- I took Plan B Monday, May 4th

Now, according to online ovulation calculators... I was SUPER fertile during the window of time in which I had unprotected sex. Withdrawal was the only method used.

My concerns:

1. Plan B works to PREVENT ovulation. But if I was already most likely ovulating during my period of sexual activity, it seems like fertilization would have been inevitable. How affective will this Plan B be?

2. Also, it says the drug is effective up to 3 days after unprotected sex... which would technically "put me in the clear" for the sex I had on May 1st and May 2nd, but not for April 30th....


Anybody? Please? Informed input?

SO day 1 unprotected sex was very cery intense for us. we have two children already i had him go buy two pills. i was already ovulating... this is how i know i had white discharge and thats a sign when i ovulate. his horoscope said "dont take risk unless you are willing to take the risk". we still gave into the heat we felt and took risk. it was like we were being called to mate... however i took plan b the day after and took the 2nd pill on the next day. ive been having lite cramps almost a week not the normal period symtoms that start a 2 weeks before period. so right now im on the border of i think both pills failed and we might be having a 3rd. ill keep yaw updated

I really haven’t had a normal cycle sense March every month I’m spotting not a full flow I’m normally flow for 5 days combine but my cramps but each month no full flow I’m trying to know how long will this pill have my cycle messed up last month I should have got a regular cycle right or definitely this month nope 2 month of spotting I took a pregnancy test last month it was negative but my cycle  is not when it’s due usually very early n light and when my cycle is due my cycle already had left like this month it came June 7 left the 8th according to my calender I was due June 9th

Currently in the same boat! According to my app, I started ovulation on the 7th, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on the morning of the 8th. We were both drunk and although we both don’t remember him cumming, we aren’t too sure. And I am paranoid about pregnancy by precum as well. I took the pill about 10 -12 hours later. Now I am playing the waiting game, I am terrified. I didn’t realize I was ovulating at that time, if not then I would’ve been responsible. I’ll keep updating.

I lost my virginity a week ago August first and according to a tracking app I had already ovulated. We didn't use a condom and he didn't come at all and experienced spotting and I'm guessing it was because it broke my hymen. I was so scared so I took an emergency contraceptive 2 days after. After taking the pill I've experienced cramps and it's been a week and I'm supposed to get my period but I haven't and I'm scared I might be pregnant! Can someone pleases give me some advice

Ok , so I usually just look on these websites for answers & then leave. But this time I decided to leave a comment and try to ease others worries. I am 17 years old and have taken the Plan B pill once & the Take Action pill once. The pills have the same ingredients but Take Action is the generic brand and about $10 cheaper. The first time, Plan B worked. After taking the Plan B about 2 hours after he cummed in me , a week later I had brown discharge for 2 weeks straight. The brown discharge stopped for a week and then my period came. During this time I was very stressed and worried so I don't know if this could've effected how long it took to get my period. About 2 weeks after my period I noticed that the smell I smelled from my vagina when I had brown discharge was still lingering even after I was no longer discharging or on my period. I went to an Urgent Care and they diagnosed me with BV. I was prescribed a gel that you insert in your vagina every night for 5 days and it cleared up the smell right away ! I got my period on my second day of using it but I continued to use it and it completely wiped out the scent giving me a happy and healthy vagina. Fast forward 2 weeks ago, my boyfriend cummed in me AGAIN. And after he cummed in me , we said hey what the hell and had carefree sex and he completely cummed in me like positive without a doubt. I've been tracking my period for about 2 years now with the same app. With that said, my predicted ovulation day and day of my period is about 95% accurate. So I was scared to see that according to my period tracker I was ovulating and as I'm sure you've read Plan B/Take Action/ morning after pills don't work during ovulation. I went to Walgreens and they ran out of Plan B but had the generic brand Take Action which was $10 cheaper. Even though they had the same ingredients I was skeptical for many reasons: it was the generic brand, I waited much longer than last time, & I was supposedly ovulating. I took the pill a little more than 24 hours later after he cummed in me. Before I took the pill I prayed and swallowed it. After 2 weeks of cramping , headaches , and mood swings I had one of the worst periods I've ever had. But I can't complain because thank God I am not pregnant. So ladies don't worry too much, I hope my advise is helpful. Also please practice safe sex and some sort of birth control !!

Had sex with my husband unprotected on December 10th middle of my period. fertile active window December 12th through the 22nd of December.13th had sex and December 18th a day before my ovulation and again the  19th day of my ovulation.  

I taken Plan B today December 20th at 3:00 pm. My husband and I always use the withdrawal method/ this time he pulled out in not enough time.

My question is what are the chances of pregnancy and effectiveness of Plan B in this situation. Newel-weds not ready for a baby just yet.

Im in the exact same boat as you and I mean the exact same boat. Im only 19 and lm really freaking out. Im supposed to start my period in the next few days but my period isnt always starting on the same day. It changes between 3 different days. Anyways, Im really scared and Im not sure what to do. So I hung out with this guy on early morning at 2 am on July 19th. He only went about 3 inches inside me, and then we were done. Afterwards I was of course freaking out and he told me that it's super hard for him to ***, and that he most likely wont every get a girl pregnant. I then took an emergency contraceptive at 5:30ish pm the same day. I believe we had sex the day I was most fertile, so its kind of freaking me out. Here are my experiences with Plan B:

-Taking it during my period made my next period come in a week late; my assumption would be because Plan B delayed my ovulation, my next period was, in turn, late.
- Taking it midway into my cycle (possibly pre-ovulation, or during ovulation) made my next period come in early; my assumption would be because an egg was already released, it accelerated the process of the shedding my uterine wall.

From reading the information slip from the Plan B package, the emergency contraceptive pill works by:
1. PRIMARILY preventing or delaying ovulation and the release of an egg
2. POSSIBLY preventing fertilization between an egg and a sperm.
3. POSSIBLY preventing the implantation of a fertilized egg.

Plan B is advertised to work anytime during your cycle, whether it be menstration, pre/post ovulation, and ovulation. As long as you followed the 72 hour window since having intercourse, you should be fine. It is also imperative to know that one dosage of Plan B works only for one act of sex.

For example:
Day 1: had unprotected sex
Day 2: -
Day 3: took plan b
Day 4: -
Day 5: had unprotected sex

Plan B taken on day 3 covered the unprotected sex on day 1. It does not protect against the unprotected sex on day 5.

I took plan b two days later.. and I took it while I felt the egg traveling... idk if it reached yet but I  felt it moving down.. now its a week later and I haven't started my period (my date allway changes tho) and im worried... Oh man it seems like it is in the air or something. Ok so i screwed up really bad. I have bee. Abstinent for over a year and started seeing a guy we didn't use any protection the first time i tracked my fertility dates and found that the unprotected sex occurred within a couple of days of possible fertility so i took plan b this was with in 48 hrs. Then a few days later we had sex again and the condom was destroyed after he came as in it broke like wide open before he came with out us realizing it. I took plan again with in 2 hours then a week and a half later after having a short period that was 2 weeks early from The plan b i assume, we had sex again and i told him to be sure to pull out but he said he lost control and he came in me so i went and got plan b again and took it within 12 and a half hours. Since i took it twice in a few days and then had a light period i am not sure how that has affected my ovulation schedule. Also i have an appointment day after tomorrow to get regular birth control. How high is my risk of being pregnant from these events?

I took plan b a few short hours after unprotected sex and got pregnant.  Waste of $50.  Now there is an unplanned pregnancy but being responsible now and having baby.

I had sex the fith day of my cycle my period started july 23rd 2012 i had the sex july 27 2012 condom slipped off I pacnicked and was in shock I have a typical monthly cycle I took plan b within the first hour I was in hysterics it worked I took a pregnancy test a week n a half later n it came out negative about 2 weeks later on the 8th of augest I had sex with someone else though and I'm wondering if it made me more fertile because I got pregnant from tht incident on the 23rd of augest all my pregnancy tests came up with a very light positive sign lady at the clinic said it meant I was about two weeks and I got ultrasounds tht day and a couple days later and a Sac didn't pop up so they scheduled me for september n finally saw my sac (you can see them around 18 to 23 days after conception) and I went to the place with the very best ultrasound equipment a week or two later and they said according to the equipment I had concieved the 10th of augest.  Plan b worked for me and if youre gonna take it take it take it within the first couple hrs of intercourse and be very careful a week or two following I read online it can make you more fertile afterwards
