Uterus Spasms/Twitching

Hi, my name is Kensley and I am 18 years old.  Yesterday and today I've noticed some strong muscle spasms in my uterus quite frequently.. They aren't painful, just really bothersome and it kind of freaks me out.  I've been reading a lot of posts on other forums and everyone says this has something to do with pregnancy.  I pray I'm not pregnant, however, my last period was sometime mid February and I have had sex after and during that.  I noticed when I got off of my period, I spotted for 4 or 5 days.. I found that highly unusual because it's never happened other than the day after my period.  So what are the chances that I'm pregnant?  What should I do here?  Please help!

Also, this might be TMI... but I've had a lot of random white discharge.. Could that be related?

This is an old post from 2009.

Some clarifications though for people who find this for answers- you ovulate about 14 days BEFORE your period, not after a period. Read Understanding Your Fertility for more information on that.

Also your uterus sits below the public bone. Any spasms in the lower abdomen come from your intestines. Bowel movements and gas feel like flutters and baby movements. It doesn't mean you are pregnant.

I read some where that if you have had a baby and/ or a miscarriage your uterus makes new nerve endings because everything has changed down there and that's what it is   I have had a miscarriage around 7 weeks and bleed for about a week and a half and get them from time to time   But  I don't think you'd be twitching down there that early in pregnancy  but then again everybody is different  take a preg test either via drug store pee stick or dr. Office blood test .. Best of luck. Xoxo

How can you tell you're having miscarriages and not on a period?
Miscarriages can hurt twice as much as a normal period usually with double the blood and added nausea. Usually. Mine was terrifying and I felt so unwell.

I had what seemed to be spotting a week before my period was due... But then on Dday my period came with excrutiating cramping... And then now these spasms a week after my period... Well started of as minor cramping with a random sharp pain but now its really annoying it doesnt hurt... Anyone with somewhat an explanation or similar experience

only if your cycle is 28 days and regular would you ovulate on the 14th day, since the 14th day of a 28 day cycle is also 14 days before the start of your next period.
some women are irregular or have longer cycles and so it is difficult to predict ovulation this way.

I'm asking because i'm confused JoyRenee since the average cycle is 28days.. wouldn't it be both 14 days after or 14 days before that you ovulate? i'm only curious cause now i'm confused lol.. i've never tried conceiving it just happened so i don't know much it that area.

Wait a minute I am having muscle spasms in my uterus as well but I know I am not pregnant. I have had two babies in the last three years and I'm pretty positive there is nothing of human form growing in my belly. Plus I've been to the doctor's for my yearly and to the ultrasound tech for my iud placement check in the last week so unless they're planing a surprise party for me I don't believe I'm prego. It does feel like that "fluttering" of the first movements but what it brings to mind more so is that weird eye twitch thing that happens. When it does happen I can actually see the spasm occurring from the outside and it is so creepy because neither of my kids really moved much in utero. So are there any other ideas besides pregnancy for this occurring? Because all I can find online is pregnancy being the answer.

if i were u i would start with takin a pregnancy test.. usually we ovulate about 14 days after the first day of your period.. so if you had sex anytime in that time frame you could possibly be pregnant but no way to tell unless u test you can usually get pretty accurate results about a couple of days before your expected period but its always best to wait till u've missed your period to test..

Good Luck to you
