am i prego

My last period ended on Oct 31. On Nov 6&7 I took a HPT and they were positive on Nov 8 i went to doc and got a positive blood test. She said either I was a early prego(1week) or it could be a M.C I had some light spotting but it only lasted for 4 days no cramp. So i was thinking either M.C(chemical PREGO) or for the BEST implation bleeding!!!! On the 13th I took another hpt and it was negative. I have no symptoms of prego I mean because its too early  I have been trying for over a year someone please help...Am I prego?

Hmmm. Honestly it's hard to say what's going on. There is no such thing as 1 week pregnant, just due to how things work out. Pregnancy is dated from LMP--this is because it's impossible to say when a female ovulates. So for 2 weeks she's "pregnant" but actually isn't. So when a female is 6 weeks pregnant, the baby is only 4 weeks.

Once you have a positive test, it's not possible to have implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding in itself is not too common, and does not last long. For most women it is a spot of blood, nothing more. When did you have this spotting? Based on what you've said, a lot of it does sound like you have had a chemical pregnancy and your period was actually a miscarriage. Does your doctor intend to do more blood work?

Hi there

This is really strange !!  Normally people test for pregnancy after they missed a period . How come you tested straight after a period???

You didn't say when your period started but I am guessing around 23rd oct????  If you were on a 28 day cycle then you would ovulate around 6th Nov??  (14th day of cycle)

I am guessing you knew this as you were trying and maybe had sex then and tested straight away?????

It takes 7 to 10 days for the fertalised egg to travel down the falopian tube and implant in your uterus and only then are you pregnant.

That is when the pregnancy hormone is released and the pregnancy detected by a blood test or (urine test a few days later)

Some people can ovulate as early as day 8 of their cycle if they have a really short cycle ...maybe this is what happened with you?? You didn't say how long your cycle normally is??

If this was the case then you could have ovulated on the 31st of Oct and implanted on 7th Nov.

I don't think this is too likely though .

Personally I think what happened was that you got pregnant on your last cycle and your "period" was in fact your miscarriage.  The reason for the positive test would be that it takes a few weeks for the pregnancy hormone to completely  go from your body after miscarriage.

There is some good news though.....apparently your are at your most fertile just after a miscarriage so I would carry on trying and you never know it could be twins this time next year!!

Good luck

Test again in a few more weeks just in case though.

it sound like you could be pregnant especialy with the blood test being positive. if you had a misscarage there would be more blood and lots of pain, you can get a faulse negative test so i think best thing to do is wait a few days and take one first thing in the morning then go back to see your doctor... i didnt have any pregnancy symptoms till around 10 weeks hope this helps.
