Just for fun...How'd you find out you were pregnant

Not sure how many women are part of this forum yet, but since there will be plenty to come, I thought I'd start a get-to-know-you question.

Tell your story of how you found out you were pregnant........and if you suspected beforehand!

well.. my husband has been in iraq since Feb. He came home on leave june 30th and about the 4th night he was home we well i dont have to spell it out in here..but anyway the room went RED. dont ask me to explain how or why but it did. and in the morning i told him we were preg. he thought no way we have been married 5 yrs and have a 6yr old and havent used protection of any kind. he went back to Iraq on the 15th of july. AF was to come about the 18th and my boobs were already killing me.. so i waited till the 26th and took a test and well here we are.. im 8 weeks..
cant wait to meet my baby..(hoping for a girl) but healthy is all w really need..

MINE IS SOO FUNNY MY 16 YEAR OLD COUSIN WAS SCARED SHE WAS PREGNANT AND I TOOK HER TO A FREE PREGNANCY CLINIC AND SHE WAS SHY TO DO IT ALONE SO I DID IT WITH HER AND ME AND MY HUBBY HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR 2 YEARS WITH NO  SUCCESS SO I WAS PRETTY CONFIDENT THAT I WAS NOT PREGNANT BUT WHEN THEY CALLED FOR RESULTS WE BOTH WERE POSITIVE   HAHAHA A LITTLE UPSETTING FOR MY COUSIN BUT A BLESSING FOR ME

My finding out was actually very structured this month lol. I Knew I would find out yesterday, because I had my first IUI on August 6th, after they kept pushing it off and pushing it off becuase the egg wasn't maturing and my lining wasn't thick enough.  Then they had me (still do) on estrogen and progesterone supplements.  Anyway, I got to go in for my Beta test yesterday morning, and they called around 1:30.   While I was in a meeting (first week back at school) so of course I didnt' get it until around 2:30. I'm just sitting in this meeting thinking "you Really want me to listen to you about grade sheets and schedules, when the phone call that could change my life could be happening now?"  I of course ran to a phone after the meeting to check my voice mail messages, and there it was!  Then I had to stop by CVS and get a test on the way home because I wasn't going to really believe it until I saw "pregnant" on that stick!

well my story is different, hubby and I had tried for 2 1/2 yrs to get preggers and had no luck; frustrated last july we went to an infertility specialist who told us everything seemed to be fine except one of my tubes was blocked so we just decided to continue; we said if by the end of the summer nothing happened we'd due IVF. For the longest time, every month i thought I had pregnancy symptoms but it was always neg, but well this time i kept feeling cramping while i was in the car and i didnt know what it was and let me say im one of those people who never have cramps while on their period and if i do its only the first day for 2 hrs or so, so i came home and googled it and found that women who experienced the same thing ended up being pregnant so I didnt wanna get my hopes up so I debated whether telling hubby but I did he immediately got excited and wanted to by a test but i didnt... anyways that month my mom and my hubbys mom was askin us when we'd be preggers we said soon later that night we we're jokin with friends how it would be really funny if id end up preggers and stuff on our way home hubby wanted to stop at the drugstore but i didnt at the last second i turned in and baught 2 tests... later that night i tested on one but didnt have enough urine so the test wasnt working so i put it back in the box; the next morning at 6 am hubby storms in the room with the test saying positive.. i just looked at him and went back to sleep. then i came out the room to go test again just as he was tellin me to test; I did and no joke withint 15 seconds I could see the positive on the test. I went down to hubby handed him the stick and told him Guess you'll be a daddy!!! After all this time we are still in shock, my first appointment is this thursday and Im so nervous but I need this to finally be able to believ e that this is really happening :) Hope this wasnt too long

I will be 41 years old this month. I didn't meet my husband until I was almost 39 years old so I was very sad we'd probably never be able to have a baby of our own (I'd had my FSH tested as a single person and it was 15 -- very bad).  Anyway, after we got engaged to my utter surprise we got pregnant without trying.  In fact, I thought I was going through menopause when I didn't get my period for a while!  That was with our baby girl who is now 6 months old.  That was actually a really great story but I'll stick with this pregnancy:)  When dd turned 5.5 months last month and I was winding down my breastfeeding, we bought an OPK and got a smiley face for LH surge on July 14th.  We ttc for 4 days.  Then a week or so later took a pregnancy test and got a positive!  I now not only have one miracle baby but hopefully two!

My hubby is in the military and we just got posted to a new city, We had just been through a horrible MC in May and I was in and out of hops for a while to get everything cleaned up. I was 5 months at the time. When we moved, he was sent elsewhere and we had decided to wait until Sept to get preggers again.....well here I am in Aug and pg. I got too excited when my body was more than normal after the surgeries and I had all the signs of ovulation in July. I called hubby and told him he needed to come home early - sure enough he was going to surprise me by coming home eary anyhow. Boom - the one try and BFP shortly after that. I am lucky to have the abilities to know when I am ready to concieve.....thanks goodness for that...so here we are pg. a few months earlier that planned but we are stoked!

hi girls

well me and my dh started to try for number 3 in may. i always had 30 day cycle so i started to test on cd 26 with first response. got negatives and 7 more after that. so on cd 36 started to spot and thought that it was period coming on, that went on for 4 days and then on cd 40 i thought i would do one last test just cause, i had one chepie one left and i got the faintest line.  got cb digital the next morning and sure enough was pregnant 1-2 weeks.

Congrats on everyones BFP!  

My DH and I have had a very diffucult past year. (we lost our little boy at the age of 2) This May we finally decided we would start ttc. We got our BFP this month.  The day before my AF was due I started feeling sick and kinda crampy. I figured we had missed out again. The day after my AF was due and she hadnt showed, I had been having dreams I tested and got BFP's. So I thought what the heck and got up to go test. Sure enough..I got my BFP! I couldnt believe my eyes. lol. We are now waiting for our first doc apt. to confirm everything!

My Fiance and I set our wedding date back in Feb. of this year and being as we are both of Scottish heritage, we decided to marry in Scotland on July 23rd.  We also decided that we would attempt to concieve our 1st child while there.  I started feeling bloated, and kind of crampy and then of course the breast tenderness was starting.  I felt pretty sure we were pregnant a week before my period was due.  We used our pregnancy test the morning we were due to fly home and found it to be positive!  We used another one the next day and it was also positive!  We are very pleased!

I am going to be joining for April too! We have been trying for almost 2 yrs and I really didn't think this month would be it. I have had 2 miscarriages in the past, so I was over thinking about it. I actually started spotting last Wed, so I figured my period was coming. I had a pretty big clot pass Thurs night and the blood was red, so I definitely figured period. The blood never turned into an actual flow, so Fri afternoon I broke down a tested. I wasn't seeing anything at first and said forget it. About 2 min later I looked and there was a faint line. I real quick got out my digital and tested with that...sure enough it said YES+. I started thinking I would probably miscarry again. I tested again in the morning and still +. I tested Sun afternoon and a real quick positive. Meanwhile the spotting completely stopped. I guess maybe this one burrowed right in there and caused implantation bleeding for a few days. I went to the doc yesterday and the blood test was positive. I am awaiting my Beta as I write this. Things seem to be looking good so far. I am due April 9th, 2010!!

I'll start.

For a week before AF was due, I was getting random nausea which was unusual for me. I've been having 29 day cycles but in June had a 26 day cycle. So I wasn't sure what day I was supposed to get AF but when CD 29 rolled around and i STILL didn't have breast tenderness, i thought something was weird. I tested on CD 26, 28, 29, and 31 and all were negative (although there were a few possible faint equate positives). On CD 32 i woke up and told DH about a dream I had about my deceased beagle (i miss her!) and i started crying. Then later that morning, i watched Dirty Dancing and cried then too!! Then...mother of all weird things...I decided to place Carpet fresh on the carpet and start vaccuming b/c I couldn't handle the smell anymore. I tested right after and got a faint BFP!!!!!!!
