I just wanted to say congrats to everyone here since we are all due in April I think it awesome o have a support group here I'm super excited but haven't told anyone yet cuz I'm nervous being only 5 wks its still too soon I think to share I was wondering if anyone here has experience explaining a pregnancy to a three year old and when the best time to let them know they are going have a little sibling

My daughter will be 3 next month and we already explained about the new baby...mostly because she's a rough-houser and we didn't want her to hurt my belly. She already has a 1-year-old brother but she DEFINITELY wasn't old enough to understand when we explained him....but this one she understands. She talks about the baby in mommy's tummy, and that she has to be careful, and when she sees pictures of me pregnant with my son she goes "Grey is in mommy's tummy in the picture, like the baby is in mommy's tummy".

We basically just told her that mommy was having a baby, that the baby was in mommy's tummy, but that the baby had to grow a long time before she could see him/her.

She got it...she's excited!

I have done it before and it is very simple.My twins and my son are 4 years apart so I had to tell him when he was 3 also and he took it well.
