water will definatly help, it keeps everything moving in the body. But I found at the end of my pregnancy that the water helped some but there was no way for me to avoid it completely unless my feet are up all day which is impossible! Just keep drinking water, put feet up when you can and if you are stuck at a desk get up and move a lot of pump your ankles to keep fluid moving. If it gets really bad think about getting tent hose, special socks which help promote circulation.

Isn't swelling a sign of toxemia? The more water you drink the more your body will be able to rid itself of toxins. Try that, it might help the swelling

Yup- it's the tops of my feet that get puffy. I put them up at night and sometimes put a cold pack on them if they hurt. I long for the days I can see the bones in my feet again!

I got puffy and bloated last time around, especially in my legs. A few days after I had my daughter it went away.

I'm starting to swell a bit also and I'm just getting puffy all over in general.

Me! The other night was the first time it was really bad, just light puffiness before. This time I lost my ankle bones. Kankles! Ugh...I also am starting to notice water retention in general in all my body tissues. Most people may not notice it, (at least I think?) but I see it when I look in the mirror around my face, and my body & legs just feel thicker & heavier. On a positive note, this is one type of weight gain that will literally melt away after birth. :-)

My feet and ankles have also been swollen! I walk a lot so I think that has something to do with it

The last couple of days my ankles are swelling. I am not able to put them up during the day and by the time I get home they are swollen. During the night they go down. I am also hoping this is a sign!
