castor oil???

39weeks today... only dilated 1cm... but Ben getting a light cramping feeling.. wondering should I try the Castor oil?? I Tryd it @ 37 weeks to get things goin.. & it only helped me dilate that 1cm... I guess it was a start

I have researched it also... I never saw that story... that's sad... but I did take it & it gave me bad contractions... but wasn't helping dilate so they sent me home... at 8 am... So no luck for me... :( better luck for someone else...

i was researching caster oil incase i go over due due next week and when i looked it up there was the most horrible story about a woman who took it... her baby ended up opening its bowles early and must have died from fetal distress she was telling people how she had to give birth to a still born, i personally would never try anything that could potentially harm my baby shes way too precious to risk id rather go 2 week over due then try to force her out. good luck to you guys ont be long now :)

Well I took 2tablespoons @ bou 10pm.... now I'm Jus waiting to see what happens.... *Fingers crossed*

Don't do it.  It can give the baby pneumonia, via meconium the baby inhales.  

At 39 weeks 1 day, you are not even quite full term yet.  Please be patient and let nature take its course.  The baby needs all the time in the uterus it can get.

I have been wondering the same thing im 39 weeks 3 days n my braxton hicks are getting much stronger n I lost my mucus plug yesterday but no real labor...i want to try it but im scared as they say it .can cause baby to poo early...let me know what you decide n if it works fir you..good luck : )
