I also have an incompetent cervix. I lost our first baby December 19, 2013 at 16 weeks and they couldn't give us any reasons on what happened. Since then i am considered high risk.. I found out this last September I was pregnant again! I was going to the drs twice a month from the beginning so they could monitor me and at about week 12 i started to take progesterone to help maintain the pregnancy. My dr said unfortunately my cervix is naturally shorter than most women which is uncommon (that's what they said) and there is nothing i have done nor can do to change this. On December 1st my husband and i went to ultrasound and saw beaking and both broke down. My dr decided it was in best interest for me to get a cerclage. Ever since i am on strict bed rest and i feel completely overwhelmed with worry and terrified that something may happen to our little girl. My dr and the specialist i see decided i am to come there to get ultrasounds every Friday and last week at week 24 they gave me steriods to help promote lung development. All i do is read about pregnancy and preterm labor because we know it's only a matter of time before i have this little baby... i hope and pray she will be ok. I feel for you in your struggle and i pray for good things for you and your baby.
How did they measure your cervix? At the anatomy ultrasound?
I went to the hospital today and found out that I have a short cervix also. My cervix is short due to the LEEP procedure that I had a few years ago. So now I'm on bed rest for two weeks.
Mine is 2.9 and I am in bed also and have progesteron shots every 5 days since last month... But what can we do. I am glad that baby is ok, everything else is less important.
No but I'm in watch also because mine is 3'. I hope you get good news
