Castor oil didn't work
Whom ever said it works well it didn't for me...I'm frustrated and tired and had nothing but slight diarrhea. Only contractions I've had were braxtons. Any advice on what else I can try besides sex to jump start labor. Due date is 5 days away. Signed miserable mom

Thankfully that's the only thing that happened, it could have been far worse.

How about long walks (usually an hour for me), I've been avoiding them but they seem to bring on more braxton hicks for me which can help prepare your body further depending on where you're at. Baby feels like she moved down more too since yesterdays hour walk, so I didn't go today. Another baby shower tomorrow for me so I figure an hour in the morning would be okay even if it jump starts labor

How about searching for scalinis eggplant parmesan? Said to bring on labor in 24-48 hours. I love eggplant parm so I'm actually making it Saturday morning to have through the day. Same thing with lots of basil and even the seeds (kinda like chia seeds) if you can find them. Asian stores carry them.

I've heard evening primrose capsules in the vagina soften the cervix and lots of sex with ejaculate inside. Nipple stimulation, pizza, spicy foods... May or may not work... Always depends, all methods could be coincidence but I think safer than the castor oil for sure.

You might even try an enema... They say to avoid after 33 weeks as they can supposedly start labor. But it depends on who you ask as to its efficacy.

Search for other things online to bring on labor/ contractions and check the safety.

I guess I'm just stick until my due date.  I actually have tried alot õf walking, nipple stimulation, sex, and spicy food. I've been using evening primrose oil for the last two weeks. I insert 2 every night before bed and take one during the day. I'm just gonna come to grips and wait til Tuesday and see if my dr actually gonna try to induce me. I just wanted to go into labor on my own like I did with my 3yr old. I feel like I'm not doing something right

Castor oil will only work if your cervix is ready. With the evening primrose oil cut one of the pills and rub it on your cervix then insert 2 slit ones as close to your cervix as possible. Do an upward pelvic tilt for about 30 secs afterward. Also take 3 by mouth a day. My Dr told me to do this to help my cervix dialate before he induces me Wed. Good luck mama
