Placenta Previa

OK, here's my situation...Thur I went to bathroom and had bright red spotting, (I was 12w that day).  I freaked and called the dr who wanted me in 30 min later for an u/s to check on the baby.  Thank God my little precious was bouncing around with a good heartbeat (169bpm).  The u/s tech printed pics and told me the dr would see me next.  Come to find out I have placenta previa.  My placenta is completely covering my cervix.  She told me to stay optimistic because sometimes as women go further along in pregnancy the uterus, as it stretches, will help to pull it away from cervix.  Ofcourse no lifting my 2yr old, no sex (fine by me, poor hub tho), and take things easy.  If it continues I will have reduced hours at work, then worse case scenario....bedrest and csection AAAHHH!!!!!  Mind you my first preg was very smooth, with the exception of gest diabetes.  All of this is brand new to me.  Just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this or has had it with previous pregnancies and what your outcome was.  They are going to check things every visit too.  Thanks ladies....any input would be great.

I also have a placenta previa that is completely covering my cervix.  My doctor told me that for most people it corrects itself.  They said that for most women as the uterus grows the placenta starts to move away from the cervix.  I would try not to stress out about it.  The worst thing that could happen is that you would end up having to be on bedrest and have a c-section.  Fortunately I haven't had any problems such as bleeding or anything with my placenta previa.  Hopefully it will all correct itself.  My doctor isn't to optomistic that mine will go away since it is completely covering the cervix but we will all get through this together.

I found out I have this too. I am currently about 13wks 4days. I found out when I was around 11.5 wks. I had spotting and freaked and went to the ER. There they did a ultrasound and found that my placenta is barely covering my cervix. My baby was moving and shaking just like yours!!!  My doctor put me on bedrest for about a week and everything so far as been good. I have another ultrasound scheduled for when I turn 16wks, my doctor said that is when he will be able to see if my placenta has moved. I was told that only 8% of women do not have theirs move.  I would try not to stress. I have already a c-section so that part really does not bother me! Good luck and know that you are not alone!
