bedtime?

What time do your babies go to bed?   We have been trying to put our little one to bed by 8 every night but it is a struggle.  We get him sleeping a little after 8 and put him in his crib but everytime he cries.  We go on with this routine for about an hour until he finally stays asleep at 9.  Is that to late for him to have as a bedtime??? What time do your babies go to bed??

Alex has been going to bed at 10 lately and waking up at either 3 or 4 then again at 6/7... its nice! BUT, he has a VERY fussy period of time EVERY NIGHT around 7/8-9/10... oh well, this too shall pass right! :) meanwhile, the long stretches of sleep are nice!

He does sleep really well when we get him to bed.  He will only wake up at 2 and 6.  I just wondered if he should be put down for a "bedtime" .  I guess from what it sounds like we are doing pretty well to get him to bed at 9.  We are trying to get him started on a routine since he is almost 2 months and that is when they say they should start going on a schedule.

Haha! I love this post! My older kids including Dalton (12 months old) dont go to bed till around 10 pm. So thats when I start to clean up after everyone, dishes, putting away laundry, ect..... Taylor is usually sleeping but gets up every 2 hours to eat untill midnight 1 am and then she has been sleeping till 5 am!! I love it!! Too bad I cant seem to get my butt in bed untill 2am:( Im up by 7 am and so is everyone eles. I have heard all about being a bad mom because my kids go to bed so late, but I just dont belive in strict shedules especially when im a night owl and would rather sleep in in the mornings. Our schedule in the summer is when ever we fall asleep............. 1am??? Yup:)

I don't put Cooper to "bed" til around 10 or 11.  Since he only sleeps for about a 3.5 hour stretch, this way he is up around 1 or 2, then sleeps again til 4 or 5.  Then we're usually up for the day!!
I would *kill* for 5 straight hours of sleep, lol, esp since i'm back to work now.

same as nicmom- 24 hour cycles of feeding every 2 hours... is there really a bedtime??? luckily, she always goes back to sleep after being fed.

if it's taking him that long to fall asleep, it's a sign that he's too young to be put on a schedule with a rigid bedtime. go with the flow for now- it'll be less stressful for all

LOL I don't really think of it as a bed time. We have feedings and naps 24 hours a day. It seems like she goes down around 8, but eats again around 11 or 12. Sometimes she stays up from 8 to 12 and won't go down.

I started doing the "routine" (bath..music, story, night nursing) in the beging at about 830, but I found myself kind falling out at that time as well. now I start a bit later and she is down by 10ish and sleeps thru til about 430 ... and that works WAY better for me!!! it doesnt work every time, she still wakes on occasion for a late nite snack, but it seems to work a bit better for us. It may be a bit different because we are using a co-sleeper so she is more aware of when we are coming and going?
