15 weeks, what are you doing with doctor or Ob?

I'm about 15 weeks now (Due Aug. 6th), and I just moved from the United States to Europe where my partner lives.  We're in between insurance and doctors right now. I was wondering what, if anything, is supposed to be happening right now in terms of appointments you might be having or what your doctors are telling you.

My last appointment was the 10 week sonogram, everything great. I've felt fine besides the usual tiredness, heartburn, irritability, etc. I'm taking prenatals and iron.  I haven't been charting the weight gain which I keep meaning to do, but I can assure it's not weight loss. Lol.

We're in progress with insurance, and even though we could just pay cash to have an appointment if necessary, I feel okay for another two weeks or so and don't really feel the need to go in.  Any thoughts are appreciated, or if you are doing anything different right now.  This is my first.

xx

Thanks very much everyone! Glad to hear everyone is progressing along well.

I did not know about the NT scan exactly or when it takes place. This is great to know so my partner and I can at least decide if we want to do that. I'm wondering if they can also tell about these abnormalities at the 18-20 week U/S? I'll have to check into that.

The big move went well, thanks. I think I'm finally recovering from all the packing, arriving, and jet lag.  The first week was pretty scary and I missed friends and family a lot but it'll get easier.  thx.

So when they tell me that the NT scan has two parts to it, is that what they are talking about..the second blood drawn at 16 weeks? They called and said "the first part" of the scan came back normal.

I am also wondering if the level two u/s is what I'll be doing at my high risk dr appointment, they didn't tell me much.

AFP is a screening that you can do to check for abnormalities such as Downs or Trisomy 13 & 18.  Not everyone chooses to do the screening.  This time I chose to do the early screen at 11 weeks, had the NT scan done at 12 weeks then the final draw at 16 weeks.  DH & I have opted to have all 3 done due to complications with our last pregnancy.  It is a personal choice.  :)

I agree with Heather. If you are not having any issues then you should be fine to wait another 2-3 weeks.

My appointments are pretty routine too.  The only thing that is coming up are my sonogram at 19 weeks & the AFP blood work which is done between 16-20 weeks.  (I think)   I am having mine drawn at 16 weeks.  Congrats on your big move!

Congrats on the move that is exciting hope you are adjusting well.  I had an appointment at 14 weeks and it was just a weight check and heartbeat check and doctor just discussed what to expect.... which wasn't much different.  I had only gained 3 pounds at that point and she wanted me to get on track to gain about a pound a week. My next is at 18 weeks and they will try to see the sex of the baby.  If you want to find out 18-20 weeks would be a good time for an appointment.
