36wks ultrasound and some baby parts are measuring around 33wks

Hi All,

Today i have my 36weeks ultrasound and am worried about everything which the dr. told me. This is my first baby and i don't want any abnormalities. Below is the concerns which the dr. told me i need your opinion on them:

1. The baby is in Right Trnsverse position with head on the right side of my belly.....did that mean i would be goin for a c-section OR there are still some chances that the baby will change the position?

2. Baby is weighing 2.5lbs and the dr. said that the baby is weighing less then what it should be on 36weeks. What do you think what should be the ideal weight at 36weeks?

3. The gestational age of the baby is 35wks1day instead of 36 and even some body parts are measuring around 33 and 32 weeks. Dr. is saying that she would check after 2 weeks and then suggest anything. This is the most worrying part can anyone have some information on these kind of cases.

Please please please reply soon.  (i have posted the same question on July2010 forum)

Am waiting desparately. Thanks in advance

I have never heard of this before. Just wait until your next u/s to confirm. Remember those things aren't accurate.

I will keep you in my prayers :-)

Hi Karen & Kitty,

Thanks alot for the replies.

The most concerning thing for me is that why the developing of body parts like legs and arms are behind 2 weeks.

Did you ever heard anything like this before.

Remember me in your prayers

The baby's position can change at any point..even at the last minute; so I wouldn't worry about that right now.  If baby continues to be in a breached position you can talk to your doctor about using a flashlight and pointing it at your belly to see if your baby moves. Is your baby moving a lot?

About the baby's weight:
1. All babies develop and grow at their own rate. You can have a small AND healthy baby.
2. Taking the baby's weight at this point isn't accurate. My friend got an u/s at 39 weeks and her daughter was weighing, according to the u/s, 9 lbs. When that baby came out she was your typical 7 lb 4 oz baby. They were even talking about possible c-section and all.

When you go in again I'm sure things will have improved and you'll hear good news. Keep us posted!

Hi! The baby can still move to the head down position but it it doesn't, you will need a c-section. 2.5 lbs. at 36 weeks is small, but ultrasounds are not always accurate. I'm sorry you have to wait 2 weeks to get more answers. Good Luck.
