Is anybody getting any sleep?

I can't sleep for anything. I'm on 3rd shift schedule but I was going to bed by 2am. Lately, I can't sleep before 5 or 6 in the morning and I'm up by 11. And, I lay in bed for up to an hour before I fall asleep. It's driving me nutty.

Hmmm. I never knew there was such a thing as nipple shield for sore nipples. I just discovered a raw red spot on my nipple and I think she had bit it too hard too often. I will give the shield a try. Thank you for the suggestion, Rebekah

Have you tried using a nipple shield? I used one with my last baby (for latching reasons) , some people use them to help if their nipples are getting too sore. it's just a small silicone shield that goes over your areola and nipple for me it helps with latching, so I don't have to supplement, but it also cuts way down on sorness and might make it easier for you to continue breastfeeding full-time! you can buy them at Target for like 8 dollars and you can reuse the same one for a few months. they usually have them at the wic office as well, if you go there. Good luck and hope it gets easier for you!

Thank you for checking on me and Caitlyn from time to time.... Really appreciate your concern while I was on bed rest. I am honestly struggling with full breastfeeding. Previously with my 2nd I pumped during the day and breastfed her only when trying to get her to sleep at night. This time I tried full breastfeeding and
It's really awful for me because this girl bites my nipples during her hunger frenzy and now I have sore sore nipples and now when she smells me I actually am terrified of her! No joke there. I am considering switching to my previous practice. Bf at night, express during the day! I don want to end up resenting my baby just because of breastfeeding know what I mean? Overall Caitlyn sleeps alot and only wakes up to scream for food or diaper is wet. Me, I only lost 6 lbs out Of the 60 lbs I put on. Hmm. In any case I am happy to have my baby girl out and stop worrying bout low fluid everyday and though my stitches hurt, I am so glad to be not pregnant anymore. Hang in there Karen! You will be there soon though it feels like forever!

Hey Maxine! I was hoping for sleep after delivery too but maybe I shouldn't count on it. How is your little one? You have to tell us about her!

I have not been able to sleep every night for 2 weeks before delivery. Maybe subconsciously I was counting
Down to my c section date plus the hormones. I thought I could get some sleep after delivery but breastfeeding is taking it's toll on me now.

I agree Brittney. This heat is unbearable. Glad you are on maternity leave.

I hate being tired constantly. I can't get anything done. All I want to do is go back to sleep. I think the heat has alot to do with it. At night when it cools down I get a burst of energy but everyone else is in bed and I can't do anything because I don't want to make alot of noise and wake them up.

I am having a lot of trouble sleeping too! a lot of it is because of almost constant contractions that sometimes wake me up! and things are just so uncomfortable now, I am dialated 4cm and 60% effaced! the baby is so low it hurts to sit up straight and I am literally going pee like every 15 minutes during the day! I have been thinking about trying to naturally induce, but with the lack of sleep, I am to tired to want to most of the time on the other hand I want this baby out now! Brittny- congratulations on going on maternity leave, that must be a relief!

I moved last week so I wasn't on here much. It took us four days to move since I couldn't do much besides pack boxes and BF had to work also.

At Thursdays appt my Dr wrote me a note I'm officially on maternity leave. I don't go back to work til Dec 1st.

Hey Brittney. Haven't seen you on much. Head down low is a good thing but yeah, I imagine that's where your pain is coming from. Are you still working?

I have been the same way for the last week. I usually am in bed by 12 but lately I haven't been going to bed till 2 or 3am and I'm up around 5 or 6 and I lay there for a few hours most the time I can get back to sleep and then I'm up by 9am.  I toss and turn because my hips are throbbing. I use to be able to just switch sides and the pain would go away but now it continues to throb even after I roll over to the other side. I had my 36wk ultrasound yesterday and she is head down very low so I think that is what is causing all the hip pain.
