Ultrasound at 36.5 weeks....

I am having an U/S on tuesday and the person who made my appt. gave me a paper with the basic stuff that I'll need to do (pre-register, allow 45 minutes, etc.) and the one direction was to drink a quart of fluids 30 minutes before the u/s. I've never had to do this for a pregnancy u/s. Do you think it's just routine directions for all u/s or do they really expect me to do this? There is no way I can hold a quart of fluids for that amount of time.

Just an FYI - I didn't have to drink anything. By this late in the pregnancy, they can't see anything but baby. LOL.

I have always been asked to drink water before an ultrasound, but usually the amount goes down the farther in the pregnancy you are. at this point i would just drink as much as I was comfortable with and hold that for as long as possible! I mean I understand earlier in the pregnancy they need you bladder full in order to be able to see things better inside, but at this point you bladder probably feels full all the time anyway! I would'nt worry about it too much!
