anyone on zoloft?

I've been taking anti-depressants for about 7 years, zoloft for the last 3. When I got pregnant, I researched it online and everything said that it should be discontinued after 28 weeks because it can cause hypertension in a newborn. I asked all 3 of my midwives, and they each told me that there was no danger in continueing zoloft for the entire pregnancy and even while breastfeeding. I've already cut my dose by half anyway. Is anyone else on zoloft or has anyone taken during their pregnancy?

Thanks Rebekah. I've decided to stay on the zoloft. I guess it's the lesser of 2 evils. Zoloft vs. depression. Neither is great for baby.

I am not sure about Zoloft as I have never been on it, but I am on wellbutrin for depression and ADD, my Dr's have told my that it is perfectly safe to take during the whole pregnancy! maybe Zoloft is ok to take unless you get warning signs or are at high risk for hypertension! your midwives should know what they are talking about, but do more reasearch on it if you are not sure! Good luck

I don't actually see the OB. The midwives work with the OB's in labor and delivery but they have seperate offices.

Sorry I cant help you out here but maybe you should ask your Ob rather than your midwives as the Ob should know what meds are to be taken or not during pregnancy.
