I have been having lower back pain too! Feels like someone standing on it with golf shoes! I had it for 6 hours with no relief but it finally went away! I figured if it didnt go away i would go in to l&d! I'm (as of last appointment) dilated to a 2 and thinning right on schedule.... due Saturday!

I was told when you have back labor you can't time it because  it's so intense it over rides contraction in the front!

I would keep an eye on it! If it last a long time get it checked out! Only reason I let mine go for 6 hours was to see if it actually was labor and my water break because I'm so close to my due date!

well I am a ftm so I don't know for sure but it does sound like back labor :)
have you tried switching positions or doing something else?? because if you have and it hasn't gone away then I would say you are prolly in labor
