Anyone else having this shot? I'm getting put on them every other week due to my cervical lengths being shorter than normal and high risk pregnancy. I just need to know how it goes being on the shots I'm nervous. Anyone know Anything about them?

My doctor is going to be giving me a shot every week and will be checking my cervix every other week to see if I have any shortening. If I do then she said I will have to have a cerclage done which is stitching my cervix so that I'll be able to carry my baby full term. The reason of all of this is because I delivered my baby girl Ellie at 21 weeks because of my cervix opening early and not being able to carry her. I really hope this shot works!! I'm due August 14th so we're hoping and praying for a full term beautiful healthy baby! Prayers please!!

I had my first son at 33 weeks and so on my 2nd pregancy my doctor highy recommended me to be on the shots . I had to do it once a week from 16-34 weeks I believe . I'm on my 3rd pregancy now I'm 15 weeks with a new doctor because I moved from Ca to Tx and I told my doctor my history and he wants me on them too .. I had no problems on the shots I had the nurse give them to me once a week . It's oil based so it the inject it fast it burns . But not all the time .

I had a shortened cervix for my first two pregnancies. I was given the shots at 28 weeks two shots and that was it. My cervix remained thin but I still managed to go to full term staying on bed rest. I am now pregnant with my third and crossing my fingers my cervix is different this time.

I was on them for 2 weeks due to having ivf done. My husband gave them to me every night, they really are not that bad. I would work myself up every time right before the shot and after it was done I would think oh that wasn't too bad. So my advice is let someone you trust give them to you and TRY to relax! I know easier said than done but just remind yourself why your doing it, it makes it a little easier :). Filling the syringe takes longer than the actual shot.
