Herpes and Group B Strep! Considering C-Section!

I need other mums or mums to bee's opinions. I'm 32 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and I have been tested positive with Group B Strep and Genital Herpes, I am seriously considering a C-Section due to infections reaching baby when he pushes through the birth canal, really not wanting to take any risks, I'd rather myself get an infection from the C-Section, than my baby going through any sort of discomfort or illness, I know there is much more risk of baby getting anything giving birth vaginally and I know I get a iv drip before anything happens, but still considering c section..I'm not to sure if this is the right decision, which Is why I need others people's opinions on this decision and what they would do If they were in this position...

If you decide to go vaginal just be honest if you have an outbreak let them know and be consistent with the anti viral meds they give you.  If you go With a c section its really not that bad. So don't be scared trust your doctor and if you exercise moderately now it helps you heal faster after. I felt amazing within a week.

I do have herpes too it ***** but we can do different things to cope. With my first I started taking acyclovir at 36 weeks to keep me from having an out break and didn't have sex with my partner . He was very understanding. I prepared for a natural vaginal delivery.  I ended up having an emergency c section because my baby was breach.although they seem scary it was a wonderful experience little pain and I healed fast. My baby was perfect. So that one was in God's hands too.this one I'm also nervous on what to do.I'm planning for vaginal birth at this point bit ifi have any out breaks I will be having a c section.

Your doc can put you on an antiviral meds around 36 weeks for herpes and that will hopefully keep you from having an outbreak prior to delivery. As long as you don't have an outbreak at the time of delivery the chances of your baby contracting the virus is very low.

I was also positive with group b strep, I had an all natural vaginal delivery. My labour went so fast, 5 1/2 hours in total 3 at home 2 at the hospital that they didn't have time to get antibiotics in me to my daughter and she also pooped so she had to be on antibiotics in the nicu for 2 weeks. I did not think their would be problems, but things happen and she was in Gods hands:) she a happy healthy beautiful 8 month old today. Since you also have genital herpes I would say to do some research, I don't know if you can pass it onto baby during labour but that's worth investigating, and also have you talked to your OB about it to see if they have any suggestions?
