Ladies just to update u I've been really frustrated since my plan of natural birth might be going out the window. This last month I've been so active and tried everything the doctor said from sex to walking, nipple stimulation etc and still no baby. My belly dropped and everything but she refuses to come. I am 40w4d today and going for a sonogram later. Doctor wants to induce tomorrow night. :(. I knew I had to keep my mind open but I want her to come on her own. By the way I love the book it has kept me from going insane while waiting and hubby loves it too

Sometimes those classes are really good. You could probably do that and then pick up a Bradley book. That might be all you need. The Bradley is geared toward husband coached birthing. Have him read it too and do the exercises together.
Good Idea. I'm still looking for a natural child birth class in my area, so hopefully I will find one. The only thing my hospital offers is a standard childbirth class and a relaxation and meditation class, so I'm taking both
Bradley is great. I teach Bradley and hypnobirthing methods. They are pretty different but I think it is good to research a few different methods. The more tools you have...the better! I know you are getting close but consider hiring a local childbirth educator for a private crash course. Some doulas offer childbirth education too so you can look to a doula as well. Best Wishes to you!
Let me know what you think? Im just reading the husband coached childbirth and its pretty informative.
Thank you :). I will definitely go get the book today.
First of all I congratulate you for taking that step in wanting what's best for you and baby and wanting the most pleasant experience you can have while in labor and delivery. A good idea is do your research. Trust me when I say that knowledge is power. The more you know about having natural childbirth the more successful you will be, and less pain you will cause yourself. There are lots of relaxation/meditation methods you will need to do during natural childbirth to make it move along quicker and less painful. If you want a book to get started try the Bradley method. It's very informative. Hope this helps.
Yes maam! There are lots of things you can do to help yourself get ready for natural birth.
1. Have confidence!
2. KEGELS! Strengthening those kegels will help push the baby out and will help w/ healing process
3. Perineal stretching (to help avoid tearing or "need" for episiotomy
4. Last, but most importantly, be patient and listen to what your body is telling you. Many women go in early because they are in “labor”... If you want a truly “natural” birth, baby will come when he/she is ready. (I went 42 weeks w/ my first and over 41 weeks w/ my second) Had the easiest labor w/ a 9.1 lb baby that “pushed herself out, when she was ready” (same w/ my son)
