Scared to ask, Depo bleeding over 5 mon after stopping shots.

I had a baby and started the depo, which i bled nonstop through three months. I didnt get another shot and I have bled for 7 months now, maybe three days total in all the months have i not seen any blood. Is there a problem? I have called my Gyno numerous times until im tired of dealing with them and no results...

Eek! That's not good. Ask your doctor about alternative to thickening your lining so that it can build on it's own... Otherwise, the pain in your canal shouldn't be there. Have they given you an exam? There may be something more serious going on.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Have you tried using another doctor. (not switching completely if you don't want to, but a second & third opinion)

I can not take Estrogen, so thats a huge risk for me with blood clots or worse. The part that scares me the most about this long period is that i had a c section and the vaginal canal feels like child is trying to push out, like a pulsing pain. i know c sections take a long time to heal with aches but im not sure if thats normal. My Gyno keeps asking if im pregnant, but i havent had sex. Im a single mommy. :)

*estrogen should only be given until the lining is thick enough to build on it's own. (estrogen can be risky, but so can bleeding non-stop w/ hormone imbalance)

I know exactly what you are dealing with.

Your uterine lining is denuded. You need estrogen to thicken your lining. Unfortunately your only option for birth control after starting small doses of estrogen will probably be a copper IUD. (no progesterone)
