I am also slightly anemic and was told by the doctor to take Ferron. it's 27mg
Oh wow, kmc! That is a high dose...but if that's what your doctor prescribed, I'm sure it's the right dosage for you!
Maybe your doctor phrased it differently and instead of saying you were anemic, he said your iron was low...or something about your platelets being low.
:-)
yea i got a prescription for mine
WOW mines 325! i never lookd at the dosage till just now
they never told me i was anemic though...hm.
Hi akl! Looks like we're in the same boat (borderline/slightly anemic). I would probably call your doctor and see if you can take a supplement. Since you're anemic, I'm sure he or she will agree.
Let us know what they say...
I had to go to the hospital a couple of weeks ago and the ER doctor told me I was slightly anemic. I asked my OB but he never said anything. Shouldn't I have to take a little something extra like you ladies?
OK, thanks girls! Sounds like the 27 mg is pretty common then, so I'll just stick to that for now. I have another appointment on Friday, so we'll see what my dr. says then.
Thanks again!
Heather

I used iron supplement in my last pregnancy about same mg. You can ask your dr to write prescription or suggest the mg.
