cerlage

I am having cerclage this friday 6/19. I am told that there would be bleeding for 3-4 days after cerclage and after that I  should never have any bleeding. But the discharge will be heavy. I am not sure what is normal and what is abnormal with respect of discharge. My Dr says, I should be able to go to work normally. I am in to IT and I have to sit before my system atleast 8 hrs a day. Is that fine. I am worried that as the baby grows, If I sit for so long, it mght hurt the cerclage. Any body who had cerclage this time?

I was suppose to get one done for my last son he was born at 22 weeks and i had to bury him. They are suppose to do one at 14 weeks this time which will be the end of the month. I like you am scared but I also know the consequences of not having one. So I wish you the best of luck and please keep me updated on how you are doing. It's nice to know someone else that is having it done. They say if done early enough it has like a 90% success rate. So I'll be praying for you. I need one because of incompentent cervix why do you need one?

hi lum510 thanks for the info. My dr says teh same too, when I asked for work from home permission letter, she said, i should go to work normally and if she sees that something is wrong then she will put me on bedrest/work from homw whatever works for me at that time. But I am worried to take chances and my dr says, normally people who had cerclage should be able to do their work till delivery.

I dont know much about a cerlage. But I had a friend who had one and she went back to work for about 2 months and then was put on bed rest because of trouble. She did stand up a good part of the work day so not sure if that played a role. I wish you all the best! Keep us posted.
