Dying to spend some money on baby things!!!

This is not really a question but more a full on bitching session. So I have absolutely everything I could possibly need for baby # 3. I should feel lucky and I suppose  I do, but, I am just dying to go baby shopping for this little critter. I keep looking but have had to stop myself from actually buying anything. It just seems too excessive.

Firstly the baby is due around Christmas and where I live in Australia that means very very hot days. Hardly much call for many new born clothes. Besides I have bags and bags of baby clothes all in neutral just ready to come out of storage. (Still in as new condition) My last was a big boy and didnt really need them for long.

Secondly we are not finding out the gender so I cant buy anything gender specific. And we are not budging on that one just so that I can go shopping.

Our car seat, cot, cradle, rocker, toys blah blah are also in perfect condition. I really got what I wanted the last go around.

Thirdly we upgraded our car as soon as we confirmed pregnancy so I guess that was a pretty big spend. Went from a little Turbo to a seudo mini van. Also we have been doing some renovations lately on the house.

Anyways, whinge, whinge, whinge !!!!!!
Anyone else in the same position?

OMG.. this weekend I went to the "Mommy and Me" store and found gently used onsies for cheap. I got 12 for $7!!

My baby so far has like 14 onsies, 2 outfits, 1 pack of newborn diapers, a ton of blankets from big brother as a baby and thats it.. ONLY 5 more weeks to wait! I am so excited.

I cant wait to go shopping.. this is my secondy baby and my hubby's 3rd- since our youngest are 3 already.. we dont have anything to give this baby from the older kids. We need everything. Car-seat, Stroller, play-pen or crib, clothes, towels, bottles, breast pump, etc.

I am so excited for the gender u/s. though I have already bought 1 pack of diapers.

I spoek to DH about starting to buy the major items ( items we don't expect to receive at the babyshower) and he agreed.  We are going to start looking at cribs, strollers and car seats.  I think your idea of the towls and baby creams is fantastic.  Thanks!

You could always start with towls and sheets just in white. I love white on baby's things. A baby bath, checking out strollers, car seats and those types of things that are not gender specific. Start buying a few baby creams, powders, pacifiers  and new born nappies each time you go to the supermarket. This will help to cut costs later when you start really shopping for the two little ones. I love to shop.

I'm in a different boat- expecting twins at the end of December (so they'll probably arrive early December). I'm a first time mom and have no clue where to begin.  I have list of baby's essentials but I feel over whelmed. I'm also hesitant to buy anything until I know the gender.  Not sure if it's to soon to start buying yet.  Our baby shower is not till 9/26/10 - it's a pretty big one and I don't want to wait till then to buy stuff.  To much to think about!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah we're gonna have alot given to us. And we were told we're getting spoiled (first baby of DH family). So i'm hesitant on buying as well. On top of that the baby is due christmas and my birthday is Dec 28th, so i'll get gifts then too. So it's hard to not spend knowing i'll get stuff, but it's soooo tempting.

I did buy 2 blankets that are neutral colors. I's a gift from mommy :)

This is my first but I am also really wanting to buy something.  I've bought a few things but I really want to go all out and make this place look like the home of a baby (minus the spit-up).  My hubby won't let me though until after our baby shower...
