I am almost 17 weeks. Today it feels like my lower abdomen is inflating like a balloon... so much constant pressure (going outwards, not down). I have also been going to the bathroom (#2, sorry tmi lol) a LOT (quite the change from first tri when I was wishing I could go more than every three or four days :o) Now it is several times a day and like urgent need to get there quickly (started Friday, it was better yesterday, & started up again this evening). I don't know if this bloating/pressure I am feeling is just stretching ligaments, a baby growth spurt, or a stomach thing...?? It also feels much firmer to the touch just above the pubic bone than under the navel. Any ideas? Similar experiences? If I experienced anything like this during my previous two pgs, I sure don't remember it...
Hi, I am 18 weeks and feel the same way! Between 17 and 18 weeks feel like I have gotten my biggest growth spurt of my growing belly. Also gained the most weight within a period of a week. Not really feeling bloating anymore than the previous tri but definitely feeling a tightening!
lol @ aliens. That's how I describe the movement to my husband (Imagine there's an alien in your belly)
I had the same thing around 18 weeks. I think I may have had a little bit of a bug or something, but I also had the ligament stretching, some cramping, little pains here and there that would just stay, like the baby was kicking a bruise or something.
Must just be a big week for growth.
Sounds like baby having a good stretch to me, its quite hard to know what the movements are with your first. I definitely had a a growth spurt around 17/18 weeks with my first and this one, and baby seemed to like exploring its new space :) x
Had my second trimester ultrasound today. And DEFINITELY had that "growth spurt. I gained 4 pounds, and the doctor took belly measurements. Those were the first measurements I have had. But the ultrasound turned out great. They said everything looked good and healthy and growing like it should. Very first picture was the baby showing off revealing ITS A BOY! :) and like Grin16 said DEFINITELY exploring... :)
