So Im pretty sure I WILL be having baby in December 2011 now!
I saw my midwife today and she told me that Because I had C section with my last baby I'll have to have another one this time!
Reason being...By the time I hit my due date it'll only be 16 months from my last c section.
She said that most OB's dont 'allow' mom's to have a VBAC that soon after.
So Im very upset. But still happy to be having a baby!
Hi! I am pregnant with my 3rd and had c-sections with my previous two babies. The first time was because baby was breech and measuring small so they didn't want to try to turn her. I debated long and hard with my 2nd pregnancy about trying a VBAC and it just never felt right so I had the repeat c-section. Thank goodness I did. The doctor told me my uterus was dangerously thin where the first surgery had been and it was close to rupturing. With this current pregnancy the dr. said they will probably take the baby 3 weeks early due to how thin it was last time. I've tried to focus on how the process of getting a baby is not the important part but that the baby arrives healthy and mom is safe too! I'm sorry you are upset but at least you will have lots of time to adjust to the idea of a repeat. I will say that the 2nd recovery was much easier for me. Hopefully that helps! Congrats on your pregnancy and when are you due?
I am due January 2nd 2012
My recovery from the first c section was fine. But I just prefer the recovery of natural lol! I liked being able to get up to do the things I needed to do after baby was born!
Of course I want baby to be healthy. And myself for that matter!
I just wish I could have a VBAC is all!
How close were your pregnancies?
That seems unusual that a midwife is the one telling you the hospital won't allow a VBAC. I guess though that if it is the hospital's rule. I've had two babies and two c-sections and have already been told I won't be allowed to VBAC this time. Not even sure if I wanted to but it's hard to be told no way! But nothing went according to my plans with either of my previous deliveries but did work out beautifully both times. My first was emergency c-section b/c of fetal distress (his heart rate was dropping). My second was a planned VBAC but she was a week late and they won't induce so she was "planned" c-sect. She had a nuccal cord which may've been fine but glad nonetheless both my babes are healthy and safe. My second c-section was worlds better to recover from too! I was up and walking around in no time so so different from my first.
Yeah! My midwife would love to let me have a VBAC but its just not safe she said!
Because of pregnancies being so close!
I had a C section with my third baby b/c we didnt want her to get stuck... My second baby girl got stuck! Her sholder didnt want to come right out!
Everything worked out in the end but it was quite scarey when she didnt want to come out!
Took her just a little longer to take a breath!
We didnt want to take the chance of this happening again. So I said yes to a C section!
I hated it! I found with my first two it was soooo much easier after!
My recovery from c section was fine. No issues at all. But I loved giving birth then being able to go and do whatever after! RIGHT AWAY!
I was really hoping to be able to cut the umbilical cord. My last chance to do it! And I cant :-(
I DO want a healthy baby! So I'll do whatever I need to do!
