second pregnancy

Anyone else struggling to keep up with a toddler? My first is 18 months and I am 20 weeks along with my second and I am having trouble just staying awake durring the day to play, change diapers and feed my son. I am going through the motions but I'm like a zombie. Also I'm not as excited this time about being pregnant. I don't not want it but I'm having mixes feelings I guess. Just wondering if anyone else has gone through the same stuff or is going through this also.

My daughter is 15 months and I'm 23 weeks pregnant and work part time. Trust me, its very tiring, cleaning, laundry, dishes, diapers and even shopping! My little girl is full of energy so I don't get to rest until its bedtime. However I look at her and just imagine how she's gonna adapt to having a little brother. I know its tough right now but I know I made a good decision because she will have someone to grow up with. :-) just relax every chance u get

I also have no one to help. Hubby works all day and helps when he can to care for the kids and i have really bad sciatic pain on my bak n leg so i cant carry my daughter much it gets really bad that it kinda numbs my leg n ive been about to fall a few times. I was like u i couldnt get enough of my rest during the day but my iron was also low so i got my iron pills n it seems to b working alright. I dont sleep during the day but i try to keep the house clean for my toddler who just wants to b everywhere. I try to get atleast 8 hours of sleep during the night and i just think about my kidos..if its not me who can feed and for them who will...that always gets me up and going. Good luck to you congrats and hope that everything gets better for u and ur upcoming baby

I know how you are feeling. I have a 3 1/2 yr old son and a daughter who just turned 2. Neither of my kids nap and are awake at 6am and dont got to bed till 7:30/8pm. Also my husband has been away for work for 6 weeks and doesnt come home for another 3weeks. I have no family to help me out so I am just trying to get through each day. My son was 20 months when my daughter was born and it was hard but you will get through it. Just take it one day at a time. I  am not a fan of tv but I did find that I would put on a show for a half hour 3 times a day to give me some breathing time. It does not make you a bad mother you just have to do what you can to get through this.

Don't worry about your mixed feelings right now. It doesn't mean you don't want the baby you are just so exhausted that your emotions are getting the best of you. If you are really exhausted and u feel like u got ran over by a truck, no get up and go I would definitely have your doctor check your iron level. When I was pregnant for my son, who will be 6 this month I was taking a prenatal vitamin and 3 iron pills a day because he was taking all my iron. I am now on pregnancy number 4 and this pregnancy was a total surprise as I have a daughter that made 4 in may, another daughter that will be 2 in september and i was on birth control since my youngest daughter was born. Think about it the first time you are pregnant you are super excited and you don't have any children to have to take care of so you have more time to rest and take care of yourself. I am excited to have another baby but believe me taking care of 3 other children and a husband doesn't leave much me time. Maybe you could find someone to take your son 1 or 2 days out of the week for a couple hours so you can rest. As mother's we all know that running around doing chores, going to the store, cooking, cleaning , doing laundry, making time for play, doesn't leave much time for rest. If you get your son to take a nap you need to nap when he naps don't worry about those dishes in the sink, or that laundry that's laying there waiting to be done. You will get through this, trust me. It may seem like it will never end but you will definitely get past these feelings. I know how you feel as I don't have much help either as my husband works all day long and I don't have much family around or for that matter time for many friends. Sometimes it seems like I will never get a moments rest but I have to make myself take a timeout. I usually get my alone time early in the morning before the children get up or late at night after they go to bed. Congrats on the new baby by the way!!!! Keep your chin up! It WILL get better!!!!
