getting induced tuesday! scared answer plz

I will be 39 weeks on Tuesday. I went to the doctor today and he said I'm almost two centimeters and I'm completely softened. He said my baby looks completely healthy. Since I was about 36 weeks I've been going twice a week for Non stress tests and weekly ultrasounds because she was small. He told me he isn't concerned and feels she is just small because I'm small. So he asked me if I wanted to be induced because he feels baby girl and I are ready. My fear is being in labor a long time. I'm a ftm and I've never heard a good inducing story. It seems everyone I know has had really long labor... 24 hours and up... I need some stories. The good and the bad please
