Castor oil questions.

What has been your experience using it? How much should you take? I'm 40 weeks and 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced and considering taking this to move things along. I've heard good and bad things about this and I guess I'm not sure if I should try it or not. Does it even work or does it depend on the person? I'm so done being pregnant and really don't want to be induced.

I was tempted to try it.. But I asked my doctor and she really didn't suggest it. It flushes your bowels out, which can lead to severe dehydration.. It wasn't worth mine and my baby's health I my opinion.

I used it when I went over with my first son...nothing happened. I drank a whole bottle and expected to be on the toilet for days with violent diarrhea but nothing happened..had a little heartburn. But I never went into labor either. I guess it depends on you. However, I've learned that not only is it a laxative for you, it can be for baby too and they are at a higher risk for asperating on miconum. Just a thought when you're deciding.
