water infection

Hi. I'm just over 11 weeks pregnant and have just recieved a letter this afternoon from the midwife stating that my sample has detected a urine infection. I've just rang and spoke to her and she said it's very common and is no risk to the baby. Is this true x

Thanks ladies.  I picked up my prescription yesterday (it took that long to get from midwife to doctor) although now I feel nervous to take them. The leaflet inside says to discuss carefully with your go if taking these tablets during pregnancy. I'm attempting yo speak with my midwife again this morning x

Is she prescribing an antibiotic? If it has been long enough for your urine to be tested, have a letter typed out, and mailed to you, it may be past the allotted time for cranberry to be of use. It is good for preventing and treating EARLY infections. I just started my med for uti yesterday. Hope you feel better soon!

Drink some cranberry juice or take cranberry tablets. No harm to the baby and very common. I've never bothered with a prescription.

I had a urinary tract infection. Apparently it's very common in pregnant women. I was given a prescription and I'm fine now.
