Wait for the u/s, that way you will be sure how many. Mine were similar to yours and I'm expecting 5 (thanks to fertility treatment). Don't get scared, you might just have high levels.
Good luck! Do you want twins? My levels at 5 weeks were 7000, so 5 weeks 2 days would be around 14000. We are pretty close. I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow, I'm very anxious.
It's not that I don't want twins it's just that I'd rather have one since I already have three kids and I just don't think I could do twins... But I'll be happy either way and figure out how to do it, lot's of people do it every day.... let me know what your ultrasound says... Good luck!!
Here's one of the things that I found on the Internet...
"Testing the specific levels of hCG can tell a health care provider certain things. Tracking levels of hCG can help to track the development of your baby, for example. HCG levels can also help to confirm if you are going to have twins or multiples, because you will have higher hCG levels with a twin or multiple pregnancy. Still, the levels of hCG present on any given day still fall within what is considered a “normal” range for a singleton pregnancy. HCG levels alone are not enough to guarantee that you are going to have twins.Testing the specific levels of hCG can tell a health care provider certain things. Well, twins don't run in my family either but I guess I'm not out of the clear yet since you're having them too!!! I am not very sick just nauseaus all the time. Hopefully, everything will go fine with your twins, I have heard a little about the vanishing twin syndrome but just try to hope for the best. I will get my ultrasound on the 2nd of July...If i can hold out until then...
I'm sure that it was a schock.. but I just wanted to say, "Congratulations on the twins"!!! Two little miracles instead of just one - that's amazing. Good luck and best wishes.
