We're going to a local ultrasound place on the 27th. It will cost $75 out of pocket (that's the sale they have going on for a basic, 2-d ultrasound) but it's worth it to find out a few weeks early. Otherwise, I'd have to wait until mid September for my regular ultrasound appt.
I just hope the baby cooperates at this place, or we'll be out $75! I hope to go back when I'm 28 weeks and get the 3-D ultrasound done (when the baby is more filled out in the face).
yea, i was thinking about doing that but its $60 out of pocket and no guarantee yet and at least they will know for sure (hopefully) by Sept, its just so darn far (and yet its really not) im just impatient!! =)
Ladies, weve only got about 6 months left!! crazy!!
my first prental appt is not until sept 15th so imagion how i feel i have another appt next tuesday at 9 am i dont know how to attend becuz i have no one to watch my son and if i awake him that early at 8 am he will be mad at me the whole day lol because my doctors office is jammed with appt with new pregnant ladies my sister goes there at northwestern prentice in downtown chicago she said it is soo busy im like no wonder i have to wait that long im just worried so probably ill find out the sex on the 15th or maybe a little after
We are planning to wait and not find out... I waited with my other childrenand it was so exciting at the birth to not knowwhat it is until the Dr says "It's a ......" So exciting... However with my placenta previa we have to have frequent u/s after 20 weeks to see if the placent has moved or not. I amhoping we have a modest baby with legs closed so the suprise isn't spoiled. My husband wouldn't know what he's looking at but I think I can tell if I see it...
I guess I'm old school!!
i dont think they will even check until your past 13 weeks, only because it may look like a girl today, but in 2 weeks, the little boys develop and then it may change. Good luck though!! that would be great to know that early but just a heads up!!
Well this baby was not modest at my last u/s... Legs were wide open as soon as the u/s tech placed the thing on my belly. It's a...... BOY!! We seem to have a lot ofboys so far! I just hope mister man stays put till atleast 35-36 weeks...
i agree with you with my son i found out he was a boy at 12 weeks. I'm hoping i find out soon i have an appt on the 15th then i have to do a down sydrome screening so maybe then they can tell me the sex im hoping i have a girl inside me lol
I saw my obe yesterday - am 18-19 weeks - no ultrasound. And forgot to ask her about finding out if this is a boy or a girl. next visit 1 month away! :( I wanna know! I wanna know! Nothing like instant gratification..... :) LOL!
supersally are you 18 weeks? if so when will u have the ultrasound? i am really wanting to know my lil sis just had a baby girl she is lovely she had a bad labor she was induced due to toxemai precamplsia they found out she had she was 39 weeks though and after 24 hours and 3 hrs of trying to push her out she couldnt fit thru the birth canal and had a c section shes in pain but she will be fine the new princess is 5 pounds 6 oz 19 inches! she is sooo small she looks like a baby doll. i really want a girl!!!!!!!!!!
According to my LMP I am just past 18 weeks. According to my calculations (I think I ovulated early) I am just on 19 weeks. No schedule for u/s yet. I forgot to ask my dr when I saw her yesterday - and my next appointment is 1 month away! :(
I want a girl. But it could be a boy! I really don't know. I guess I'll deal with whatever I get. I just pray to God that it's healthy.
Glad your little sis is fine and the baby too. Tough having a C-section after trying for so long. YOur two babies are going to have fun playing together.
My twin sister had a boy 9 weeks ago. Another sister is due mid-January. I am due 1st week of Feb. My baby is no. 17 grandchild for my mum (there are 6 of us and all have kids - i am the last to get started). Most of the kids are still pretty young. You can imagine how crazy our family get-togethers are!
We found out this morning that it's a little girl!!!
We both thought it would be a boy, since that's all anyone ever has on my husband's side. But I have only dreamed about the baby once, very vividly, and it was a little girl in my dream. The ultrasound was amazing, the tech showed us all the bones and the little internal organs....I think I could watch the baby all day every day and never get tired of it! We have decided to name her Annabelle, but haven't thought of a middle name yet.
I'm so excited!!!
add another Boy to the list!! we have a penis!! he is so stubborn. he was moving so much she could barely get his heartrate. he finally stopped and she got it but he would NOT show us his face so we have to go back in 4 weeks, she said he will be too big to hide in my pelvis then. his head so so far down on my right side, she had me roll over and then roll back and she got a shot of his face but then he dove back again before she could get a second shot of it to measure him. he is on track and my due date has not changed so Aidyn Denen will be here in February!!
It's a GIRL! She was face down laying sideways in my belly, so it was hard to get a shot. She was moving, kickin, n punchin all over the place but wouldn't flip over and you could see her mouth makin sucking movements also. Anyway, she got a shot from behind and the baby opened the legs just enuff to see.
I swear if I'm having twins again, I'm DEF finding out and will GLADLY tell the world what I'm having! LOL I SO want a boy and i could find out this coming Monday (Sept 29)! But again if it's only one, I'm not finding out! :) Good luck to everyone and I hope we all get what we want :)
After 14 years of trying and 4 miscarriages, I am so very happy to say that Amiyr Josiah Gordon is due on 2-12-09 and he is halthy and even looks happy. The Cerclage is holding up nicely, my cervix is long and closed tight. I will never stop my prayers, but I really feel that this time I will finally have a baby of my own. Good luck to all of you.
Can we add a "SURPRIZE" Section? I was looking on the Jan '09 board and they have a surprize section for woman who don't wantto know :) I think I'm the only one doing this, but it would be cool to have my name up there too!!
Went in today to the hospital to see my allergy dr. My obe wasn't in and then i thought, what the hell. I walked into the Ultrasound suite and asked them if they could do u/s to check if its a girl or a boy. they asked my dr's name and said, "sure".
So I'm in for a girl (90% certainty).
She's grown so much and looking fine. She looks like she has a big nose.
Now I just gotta think of girl names.
So now we're nearly even 11 boys, 10 girls and 1 surprise.
I have been all worried about whether it really IS a girl that I am having, even though the tech said it is "definite" and I also feel that it is a girl. Well at my 20 week appointment yesterday the doctor confirmed that he agrees it is a girl - based on all the u/s pics that she included in my chart (that was without him even seeing the "money shot"). Other than that, everything checked out great with her measurements and all.
Yet still that leaves us at 13-13 and 1 surprize!! LOL I still could beat the streak...I'm switching hospitals and doctors because I can't stand who I'm seeing now and how I'm being treated. So hopefully I get another U/S and we could break this thing :)
ITS A BOY just found out today. I was completely dumbstruck - for the first time both me and DH were wrong - thought it was another girl. Now i have a big boy 5 a girl 2 and another boy - my son is very very happy that he is going to have a brother.
