i have to agree with Chel, if youre going through fertility treatments, like myself, everyone is aware of whats going on and are waiting for an answer anyway, why lie and say it didnt happen when you know it did it just didnt come to full term!! again its up to the person, but thats my point of view!! Good luck!!

i think if you fill you have the strength to tell everyone you miscarried heaven forbid then go ahead why not! I told my family at 7 weeks and everyone else at 10 and I miscarried at 11 so it ***** but i figured i would tell my family one way or another so what do you have to lose. I'm now 5 weeks pregnant again and we are waiting to tell anyone until we our a second appointment around 3 months just because my hubby wants to, but even going through it i would tell everyone again it is hard but i would tell them anyway.

First of all, CONGRATS on your 1st baby!!! How wonderful & exciting!

I think telling or not telling depends on your personal situation. As you can see, most of us who have gone thru m/c's are more on the "wait to tell" side, and this is obviously because we've gone thru the awful experience of  telling everyone, and then having to tell everyone the bad news.

My 1st m/c we told everyone. I even set up a pregnancy journal website with pics of everything from my HPT's to my tummy, and emailed everyone. Well 12wks later, I had to bring myself to give everyone the bad news, because they were all expecting a baby in 9 months. I didn't even have enough strength to face anyone, nonetheless tell everyone about our loss. This current pregnancy, we've told parents & a couple very close friends, and that's it. It sux cause I want to shout it from the rooftops. LOL We contemplated not telling anyone till we actually had our lil bundle in our arms, God willing.

So, like I said, it all depends on your situation. It's a blessing and suppose to be an AMAZING time, and we should share it with EVERYONE, but unfortunately there are some of us that just can't, till we're out of the woods.

Goodluck to you and my prayers are with you and your lil bean!

after 2 and a half years of trying, we finally got the news that i am pregnant, we told EVERYONE! as bad as that is with such risks, we are just too excited to keep it in! of course i dont go a minute of any day scared of what could happen and it never leaves my mind but if LORD FORBID, anything were to happen, we will have the support of all of our friends and family!! along with that, you might as well take well advantage of being excited as long as you can!! (in our case this will probably be my first and only pregnancy, as long as i am holding my healthy and happy babies at the end) of course it is your decision to the fullest, this is my opinion, congratulations either way!!!! i am 5 weeks 4 days, 6 and a half weeks to the "safety zone"

Hi. It's totally up to you and personal preference. With my first pregnancy we told people right away even before we had a doctor's confirmation and it was a great nine months. Unfortunatley after that we had two m/c but in hindsight we were glad to have the support of our family and friends granted a lot less people knew about the third pregnancy as opposed the the second. Here we are with out fourth pregnancy and hoping it stays/ We just told my parents last night and are telling his parents this weekend. AFter we see heartbeats we will tell my brother and sister, I am still not sure at what point I will be comfortable telling my step-son as the first m/c devastated him (he did not know about the second one at all). So again its totally up to you!

I told my immediate family and a few friends.  But I haven't told everyone.  My mom is insisting on telling EVERYONE and I keep telling her to have discretion and to wait a little bit since I don't know what could happen.  Anyway, I'm guessing that the news will spread by this weekend (I'm 4 wks from conception) cause my mom can't help it.

I also agree, I would wait until you're closer to 12 weeks. I got Pregnant right after my Wedding and thankfully we didn't tell our parents but we made the mistake of telling a lot of our friends and we ended up miscarrying at almost 13 weeks along!! My second Pregnancy we told no one and I miscarried again at about 6 weeks. Now I'm Pregnant for the 3rd time..I'm 6 weeks along and we told prolly 5 people and thats it! We're not telling any other family or friends until I am past the 12 week mark. The risk of M/C is just so high and with me already having 2 I am scared to death to have to tell people that I'm "not pregnant" anymore-it was devastating! I don't want to scare you...you could have a very healthy pregnancy, but just to be on the more cautious side I would wait a lil bit longer.
Good Luck & CONGRATS!!! :)

Personally, I'd wait to tell everyone after you're at least 12 weeks along. Most (not all) people usually wait until after their first trimester b/c the risk of miscarriage is greater during that time. It is really up to you. I've only told a few of my best friends and family members right now (I'm around 6 weeks) because those are the same people I would talk to if something were to happen. I wouldn't want everyone knowing b/c there are some people you don't see very often and it's possible they would call/write/e-mail asking how you are, and you don't want to have to keep repeating bad news. This is ONLY if something were to happen of course, which hopefully that wouldn't be the case. I'm just laying it out there...

Congrats on your pregnancy, though, and best wishes for an EASY nine months!
