My 34th week checkup

Today was actually not so bad.  I was the only one there waiting...I think because of the ice storm we just had, nobody showed up.  So it was nice not having to wait forever in the waiting room.

Well, now I'm gaining weight.  I guess it's a good thing since I am pregnant, but I gained 4 pounds these last two weeks!!  BLAH!  I talked to the doctor aboutthe pressure I'm feeling, not having much use of my left leg and he said it's because the baby's head is RIGHT THERE!

We listened to the heartbeat, which is always amazing.  Then I got measured...LOL

44cm @34 weeks!!  LOL

He's says, "Wow, good growth!!!"  I knew I was still growing but OMG!!!  I swear to god, if these doctors think I'm pushing this "kid" out vaginally, they're CRAZY!!

At 29 weeks, they figured she was 41/2-5 pounds....that's how much it's supposed to be RIGHT NOW!!  So I'm thinking it's about 7 pounds or so...What did I do?  Maybe you're not supposed to have any more babies after twins!  Who knows!!

Aww I'm glad your appointment went well! And try not to worry...even though I know its impossible!
And I actually cleared something up with my doctor...babies dont necessarily gain half a pound a week..its actually only a few ounces per week in the third trimester. They say they CAN gain up to half a pound a week but my doctor said the average baby gains only a few ounces a week. So I hope that makes you feel a lil bit better!

I keep worrying about the size of my little guy...they say he is 6 to 6 in a half pounds at 36 in a half weeks...so if he gains the appropriate weight and I go full term that could be another 2 pounds which would make him over 8! And for me, thats big..so it kinda concerns me but none of my doctors seems concerned with his weight or me having him vaginally. So I don't know if I'm just worrying for nothing! I'm seeing a new doctor on Monday so I'm interested to see what she predicts his weight to be because after all, its a guesstimate!

Good Luck girl, hang in there!

After meeting with my doctor and he went over my 31 1/2 week u/s, it showed the baby weighing 4 1/2 lbs and measuring 2 weeks ahead.  He pretty much said that he thinks I am going to have a big baby and he said he hopes I deliver 2 weeks early, otherwise we're looking at 9 or 10 lbs.  He did say though, that during the delivery he will be honest about whether or not he thinks I will get the baby out vaginally - because if the baby hasn't dropped properly, etc. then I may not be able to get the baby out.  He went on to say that as soon as he thinks I won't be able to do it vaginally he will let me know, but also give me the option to either continue laboring or get the c-section.  It was nice to know he is on my side and giving me the option.  But then again, I guess there is a possibility that the u/s could have been off.  I really don't want a c-section but I won't put my baby in any harm either.

awww sure the baby is growing well ...but are they for real?! they should induce you cause as you said the baby is going to be too big to deliver vaginally and the only alternative would be a c-section i sure know no one wants that ...you should annoy them and talk to the doctor the baby is seriously ready to pop soon, hope everything will be fine try not to stress out

We got a "guess" at 32 weeks it was a girl.  So I'm going by that but not buying any pinks or blues until it 's born :)

No, no c-section~Came close with my son and he was 8.6...I had an episiodomy (sp) and had the vaccum and he almost didn't come out~so it makes me nervous that if they don't induce me like I talked to him about earlier in the pregnancy, I'll have a c-section.  I haven't even read up on them, what they do and if it's staples or stitches?

I stopped in to se my regular doctor's nurse and she told me to tell the front desk to schedule me with him.  Just because I am getting so close and I'd be almost guarenteed an induction.

I was just thinking~it this baby meausured 4 1/2-5 pound at 29 weeks, and it gains a 1/2 pound every week from then until I have it, it would be a 10 pounder.  My grandmother had 3 out of 6 kids that were 10 1/2 pounders and the last one she almost died from....so that makes me nervous.   I just want this baby OUT and SAFE!!  :)

My next appointment is on the 22nd, and I'l find out alittle more about my birthing plan.  I'll let you all know about that as well.

Wow girl all I have to say is good luck. I have no experience with big babies so hopefully it wont be that bad and maybe you just have a lot of water. My 2nd baby they thought was a 9 pounder, but I had soooo much water. He was only 7lbs 12oz. Almost there though.. Good Luck!
