supersally- you are right.  when my frined was pregnant last year, she was so tired all the time and would sleep hours on end.  they checked her iron level and it was so low.  they gave iron shots and it made a world of difference.

i myself am a little over 15 weeks and i am tired.  i work full time, well acutally more hours if needed cause i run a dual diagnosis group home and if there is a crisis, i have to stay late.  so work really makes me tired and i have been trying to walk at least 3 times a week after work, which then i go right now and pass out.

Hi,

being tired can be a normal part of pregnancy, or not...

for anyone feeling really tired and particularly mel (you say you are out of breath) please tell your doctor and get your iron levels checked.  Iron deficiency anaemia is very common in pregnancy and does cause fatigue.

I've done a little research on this and will post separately this info.

I know my iron is probably low and will test next week when i do other blood work. My endo wanted me on iron, but the obe told me it was not bad enough to take iron.... anyway, if it's still low at this next check guess I'll need to do something...

Not only tired but I can't breath! I'm always short of breath and if I walk to much at once at work or talking to a customer..I run out of breath fast and then seams 4ever to catch it again. I have mitral valve prolapse..a heart condition and I don't no if this combined with being pregnant is what is causing it or what. I don't smoke and I've never had asthma and weigh 145 and am 5'9, and I'm on my feet for 10hrs 4days a week..so I'm not really out of shape...but I can't breath!

I am tired all the time too but I put the blame on bordem more than anything else in my case. I have heard different stories but I think the second trimester is where most women feel the best usually the third brings back fatigue and more frequent trips to the bathroom as well as other things that prevent a good nights sleep until of course that nesting spurt occurs =-))

I'm almost 19 weeks and completely exhausted! I do work...ALOT..so I'm sure that plays a major role in my exhaustion...but for the most part I get up and I'm tired the first 10 minutes, than I'm wide awake. Than come mid afternoon all I want to do is nap! On my days off I take a 2 hour nap mid-afternoon..and than am in bed no later than 11! I feel like all I do is sleep. And they say you get your energy back second trimester..ha yea right!

I understand!  I am also at the same point in my pregnancy.   Being bored takes a toll on energy levels, strangley...  I work part time, but if I'm left to myself for too long, I sleep like crazy.  lol.  :P
