Sounds to me you are right in the average range but then again I wouldn't give up until your ultrasound. I met a women who insisted to everyone, even her docotor that she was having twins and they told her she wasn't. When she finally went to the hospital she delivered healthy twin girls. Granted that was quite a few years ago (she is probably in her 80's) so the chances of them missing a twin at this day and age with all the technological advances I don't know.
my hcg level was only 796 at 4wks so it maybe a slim chance
I would say the odds are pretty good for you. I also have very high Hcg numbers, it was over 8000 at 4 weeks so that was another tip that there might be more than one however I have heard of women having numbers just as high with only singleton pregnancies. If you do get twins it will be awesome to have someone to trade stories with throughout the coming months!!!
his grandparents on each side are twins...his mom's side his grandma being an identical twin and his dad's side his grandpa being a fraternal twin. that would be so awesome to have either! Congrats on yours! oh and by the way I see what you mean by the obvious giveaway in your ultrasound early on.
I don't have much of an answer but I do know that having twins on your paternal side has more of an effect that having them on your maternal side. Also it is more likely to skip a generation. I have twins on my dad's side somewhere (actually my grandfathers generation) and I believe my maternal grandfather's brother had twins. But neither my parents siblings or any of their children have conceived twins besides me and my sister (she unfortunately lost them at 9 weeks). I am around 7+ weeks right now.
