Discharge

Sorry if this is TMI but I am curious about 3rd trimester discharge. I have had the expected discharge throughout the pregnancy, sometimes more than others and sometimes none at all. However when I went to the restroom a little while ago there was a small gelatinous / slimey clump. (ugh...that sounds so gross haha) Very small, about the size of a pea. I have gone to the restroom since and there seems to be just a milky/normal discharge. I am 30 weeks and 1 day and I just want some reassurance that it wasn't part of my mucus plug or anything serious. TIA for your thoughts :)

I know what you mean, its always nice to know that someone else has experienced the same symptoms. I was having a lot of cramping again recently, along with increased discharge. I had a regularly scheduled appt last week and found out that I had a UTI. Ugh...its always something isn't it?
Wishing you and yours a very happy new year as well :)

I know exactly what you are talking about.  I actually went to the L&D because of this symptom.  This is my first pregnancy and I am about 34 weeks.   At the time i was about 32 weeks, and it was my first time having that gelatinous / slimey clump of discharge.  It was so much "discharge" that it made a suction sound and had a pressure release type of feeling when i wiped.  It never touched my panties, but I only saw it when I wiped.  And i also had very bad cramping, ( wasnt sure if it was contractions at the time or not, so dh helped me to the bathroom, and wham, thats what i saw and freaked out.  I just knew i was going into labor.  lol.  I made my dh look and he was just as freaked out too.  he was gonna call the ambulance.  I called my ob's emergency line being that it was 3am, and they told me to go to the hospital to be sure.  The doc examined me and they saw more of it, and determined that it was normal pregnancy discharge.  I felt so foolish, but relieved.

I know this sound silly but i am glad to know someone that has experienced this.  the doctor said it was common but none of the women i know who are pregnant or have had children, seemed to have experienced this.

I wish you the best of luck, and always get everything checked out.   Happy New Year/ Holidays.   :-)

Very normal... As you get further along the clumps get a lot larger. Just another joy of pregnancy.
