Prayers Please

I know this is not a religious/spiritual forum, but if you wouldn't mind keeping me and my family in your prayers that would be really appreciated.  I have been absent for the past week b/c I am currently in Alabama caring for my father who has invasive transitional cell bladder cancer and just got out of the hospital Monday after being hospitalized for becoming too weak.  He has 3-2 weeks to get strong enough to try a final type of chemo that has a 30% chance.  Without that or if it doesn't work he's been given 3-6 months.  He can't really walk or function, and my step-mother has a mental disability, so she cannot take care of him.  The home health agency finally came out today, so hopefully they will be able to take over next week.

It's been pretty tough on me b/c I still am nauseated about 1/2 the time, and I can't lift him well.  I'm also tired a lot.  It would be great if that whole 2nd trimester energy thing would kick in for me, but it isn't happening yet.  I have to get up a lot during the night to take care of him so I am not sleeping well.  I'm dealing with doctors (if I'm not feeding him or dealing with his meds or my step-mother) all day long so there's no time to nap.  I'm also nervous b/c so many of his meds have warnings not to take during pregnancy and I am trying to handle them as little as possible and be sure my hands are dry if I have to touch them... I still worry that something might absorb through my skin.

So that's where I'm at right now.  Thoughts, prayers, words of encouragement greatly appreciated.  I just feel like I'm not able to take care of my father well because I'm pregnant and not able to take care of my baby well because I'm taking care of him...

I hate it that your going through that. I know cancer is hard my grandfather has lung cancer (stage 5) they told him the same thing about 16 months ago and with chemo it helps some. Just keep praying and I know I will say a prayer for ya. I hope that your energy kicks in soon, be careful and try not to overdue it or hurt yourself. Prayers going up!

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through.  Take good care of yourself and your father.  It's hard to balance, but I'm sure your father will understand that you need to take care of his grandchild.  Perhaps it would help to consider that by helping yourself, you are also helping his grandchild.  It's so hard looking after an ailing loved one, so try not to lose yourself in it.  There must be many support groups of people going through the same thing and maybe they can give you more specific advice on how to balance your life in these troubled times.
