Jasmin_mom, that same thing happen to me 2 weeks ago. They kept me in the hospital for 4 hours gave me fluid and the shot to stop the contractions. And then I had to call my doctors office and complain about getting an appointment within 3 days since I was in the hospital, the nurse is going to tell me drink fluids and rest. Its my first child and I dont think that is a really good explanation that they should have given.
I went to the doctor they ran all these test and could not come up with a reason why I am contracting when my cervix is long and close, and my blood pressure is normal and all the urine test came back negative. If I was not this far along I would have switched OB I dont think mine is doing a great job with my concerns. Any way I wish you luck and my prayers are with you, I talk to her everyday telling her she is not allowed to come out before January 11th.
I hope everything works out and you deliver a healthy baby! Maybe the little one will change his/her mind and decide to wait a little longer. Keep us updated!
i know but i go thru a military hospital..and because i had premature twins born at 29weeks they think its gonna be normal..and pretty much they are gonna see what my 24hr urine comes back as..so if comes back showing protein and everythign they said they might have to put me in the hospital..but they did a test saying i wasnt gonna deliver in the next 2weeks so thats why they sent me home..they said the contractions are gonna be normal for me cuz of the way i was cut with the twins..but if they get worse or i get any other symptoms i have to go in
I would think they would be more pro-active and keep you in the hospital. There is not a high survival rate at 24 weeks pregnant if the baby comes too soon.
I'm glad things seem okay, but why wouldn't they keep you longer to get the contractions to stop? I mean, 24wks is pretty early...Are you high risk? I hope he stays in there a lot longer!!
